Eldritch Storms

The sea south of the Requian Coast is plagued by strange weather-related phenomena blamed on the Rain Twins for their drop in popularity after the majority of the Requian Coast and islands near it began to worship Shae, the Queen of Waves. These phenomena take the form of typhoons, winds, rains, and hurricanes, each with its own special twist. The following are examples of storms and their effects:

• Mist of the Stormkin Islands. The islands the Rain Twins were born on and are currently living in are surrounded by a strange mist. No ship that has entered it has yet to return and contact with the islands has been completely disconnected.
• The Twin's Rage. A rain cloud filled with red lightning. When it's ready, the cloud becomes fiery, and rains drown beams of flame onto whatever is underneath it.
• Whale o' Time. A living cloud takes the form of a whale shark that dives onto settlements and ships.

Research

Though these storms have been going on for decades, little has still been learned about them. Several wizards from the coast, as well as wizards from other parts of Great Eethill (such as Silentia), have been arriving at the coast to look into the bizarre phenomena.

Magic Bolts

It has been noticed, that when a bolt of lightning strikes a creature, and that creature happens to live, they are gifted powers equally as strange as the storms themselves. They call creatures that have gone through this Stormborns, and creatures born of the storm Stormlings.
