Mails
With a nine-foot-tall slender stone body, Mails throws off an unsettling feeling when first meeting him but his overall neutrality tends to wave off those emotions over time.
Sibling of Fate
When the Barren was created, it was born with four creatures [The Four], each with its own purpose. Mails was created to be a hunter and kill monsters that escaped from the Barren's core. When their sister, later named Lady Fate, betrayed her siblings she killed the Herder and the Architect, leaving Mails alone to stop her. The two entered a great combat, Mails would've had a great advantage as the Hunter, but Fate had the power of their other two siblings at her disposal. The brawl concluded when Fate realized that she couldn't kill Mails. Instead, she seals them within a ginormous mountain, and over centuries of their imprisonment, uses magic to wipe Mails' memory and place false ideas in their head. Instead of a being of great power meant to protect the Barren from their sister, Mails believed they were the last titan who Lady Fate had saved, forever indebted to her and forced into a vow of pacifism.Death of Mails
When Mails failed to uphold their pacifist vow when defending Fate's Bane from Scias, they decide to end their life as punishment. Before Mails died, however, they remembered their former self and told the party to collect their bones and keep them from Lady Fate. The reason for this was that the Four could only be killed by one of the Four, meaning if Fate was left to be that last remaining member, someone would have to create a weapon from another's remains to defeat her.
