High Table
The High Table was a powerful and secretive organization that operated outside the bounds of law and society. Founded by the legendary pirate king, Ferendel Dhaevnor, its purpose was to unite the most powerful criminal factions under one banner and to create a democratic body that would ensure peace and stability in the criminal underworld.
The High Table was headquartered in the Dreyla Isles, a remote and treacherous archipelago that had long been a haven for pirates and smugglers. It was also the home of the Dark Elves, a mysterious and reclusive race with a long history of trade and commerce. The combination of the Dark Elves and free ports drew in races from all over to trade, barter, and make money.
From its base in Dreyla, the High Table operated a vast network of contacts and agents, spanning the length and breadth of the world. Its members were some of the most notorious pirates, black market traders, assassins, and mercenaries in the world, all bound by a strict code of conduct that governed their behavior and interactions.
Membership in the High Table was highly coveted, granting access to a world of wealth, power, and opportunity. But the organization was not just a tool for oppression and exploitation. Its leaders believed that by uniting the criminal underworld under a common banner, they could prevent needless bloodshed and promote fair competition. And for centuries, the High Table had proven itself to be a necessary evil, a force for order in a world ruled by chaos and violence.
After Ferendel Dhaevnor retired, leadership of the High Table had passed down to his daughter, Persefani Hightower. Despite her youth and inexperience, she proved to be a capable leader, quickly earning the respect and loyalty of the organization's members.
But Persefani was not alone. Her father remained a trusted advisor, drawing on his decades of experience to guide her through the complex and treacherous world of the criminal underworld.
Under their leadership, the High Table had expanded its reach and influence, brokering deals and alliances that had reshaped the criminal landscape. And though it was not without its controversies, the High Table remained a powerful force in the criminal underworld, dedicated to preserving the legacy of Ferendel Dhaevnor and ensuring the continued existence of the organization.
