Alsa Alraya, often referred to as the City of the Genasi, stands as a vibrant hub of culture and commerce within the lands of Alraya. Situated on the eastern coast, where the Maridene River meets the Efreeti Desert, this bustling metropolis serves as the sole port linking Alraya to the Everspring Isles.

DESCRIPTION

The city primarily serves as a bustling port, acting as the main gateway for ships traveling to the Everspring Isles. Its expansive docks teem with activity, accommodating a constant flow of ships both moored at the dock and anchored out in the bay. Constructed predominantly from sandstone, the buildings of Alsa Alraya exude a pale yellow or white hue, with many featuring flat roofs while larger structures boast elegant domes. Narrow, dusty streets wind through the city, occasionally adorned with sparse vegetation or the occasional palm tree. While the majority of the city's inhabitants are Genasi, a diverse array of races can be found among its population, including a notable presence of sun elves.

City Districts

The city is made up of five districts

Esar District

Home to the famed Alsa Arena and nestled along the riverbanks, Esar attracts tourists and market-goers alike, boasting an eclectic array of market stalls and bustling activity.

Buha District

The enclave of the city's elite, Buha hosts the residences of the wealthy and powerful noble families, exuding an air of opulence and refinement.

Barqa District

A center for craftsmen and tradespeople, Barqa bustles with the energy of commerce, its streets alive with the sounds of artisans at work and the sights of bustling markets.

Jabal District

A testament to the city's diversity, Jabal stands as a haven for the less fortunate, housing poorer Genasi and Chimera refugees amidst its modest dwellings.

Ahab District

Built upon the ruins of the ancient Mirad city of Qaisalma , Ahab is steeped in history and tradition, housing both the city docks and the grand Elemental Temple, a testament to the spiritual beliefs of the Genasi people.

Government

Ruled by a high council composed of influential members of society, Alsa Alraya ensures representation from each elemental Genasi type, reflecting the city's commitment to tradition. A Marquis oversees the council's decisions, serving as the final arbiter in matters of governance.

Culture

The Genasi in Alsa Alraya are organized into tribes, comprising multiple families. Unlike their counterparts in the surrounding lands, the tribes within the city are less bound by tradition. Here, the tribe name has evolved into little more than a family name, fostering a greater sense of integration and intermingling among its people, though intermarriage remains relatively rare.
Trade thrives as the lifeblood of the city, with markets sprawling throughout its streets. The main market by the docks stands as the bustling epicenter, operating 24 hours a day to cater to the constant influx of merchants and traders.
Despite being less religious than their counterparts outside the city, the Genasi of Alsa Alraya are still deeply spiritual, predominantly worshipping the spirits of their respective elements. The Elemental Temple, the second largest building in the city, serves as a focal point for their spiritual practices, with each Genasi type offering daily prayers at the temple.
The city's largest building is the renowned Alsa Arena stadium, drawing crowds of Genasi and outsiders alike to witness a diverse array of events, including the famous Alsa games.

Originally the Mirad city of Qaisalma. it was destroyed in the 2nd Convergence.The majorety of the city fell into the sea leaving a small part of it left in ruins on the coast.
