Auril's Cloak

Auril's Cloak is an Aetherium Core which the goddess of Winter, Auril lent her power to help create. Forged centuries ago at the request of the Rangers of Frostspire to help protect the ancient city from the creatures that dwell within the Glacial Cauldron. The Core is located in the heart of White Thorn Tower and is closely guarded at all times.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The core gives the city a protective shield that stops certain types of creatures from entering. Creatures currently blocked are Monstrosities, Aberrations, Elementals, Fey, Fiends and, after there being numerous sightings in recent years, dragons. A new species can be blocked by the shield by performing a ritual over a month that requires a few drops of blood from the affiliated species as well as ten ingots of Aetherium.
