Sea Elves

The sea elves evolved from triton populations that came to live permanently on the island archipelagoes dotted around the Continent's eastern coast. They were subject to a brutal invasion by the Empire in the earliest days of expansion. Since then, have been sufficiently integrated that they have access to a number of Castes. While the sea elves living within the Empire have often been there for generations, and essentially have lost all connection to their original culture, small communities of sea elves remain on tiny islands that are still loyal to the old ways. These communities are hostile to Celestial interference and remain extant only because the Empire cannot be bothered to intervene.
Sea elves are blue or green-skinned, with similarly coloured hair and pointed ears. They lack the adaptational characteristics of their triton cousins, but they still have sharp nails, webbed fingers and the ability to breath water.

Sea Elf Names

Descended from tritons, many sea elves bear names similar to that of their underwater cousins. However, some deviation exists. Sea elves do not have surnames.   Example Female Names: Kiri, Amaia, Hana, Kora, Tui Example Male Names: Anaru, Timoti, Tama, Niko, Mateo Example Neuter Names: Kahurangi, Manai, Nikora
