Mistchief
Another night in Night, as the Dreamer follows the threads left by Selene, deep into the valley of the darkened realms...
Noelani danced through the shimmering mist around her, twelve threads hovering about her, as she observed her sisters at their work.
Selene returned to rest, her fingers raw from her many moonlit workings, and so Noelani was kind. Her first delivery was without mischief, placed gently at her sister's bedside not long after it was given, but changed from its time in the mists. Noelani placed a gentle kiss upon her brow, and then dove back into the hazy expanse.
Mahina was next, found at the shore of the River Styx, staring angrily at the swollen waters. Noelani frowned, upset at seeing her sister so, and decided the best way to cheer her up... A slap to the backside broke Mahina from her ruminations, followed by a thread stuffed down the front of her dress. Noelani made the mists extra cold, for a little added flare, and vanished before her sister could retaliate.
Then to Laguna, with her legs knee-deep in the lakes of Night, watching her floral wards sway under the water. Noelani appeared in a flash, one foot pushing her sister into the deep, which created a satisfactory splash. She threw the thread in after her, and fled to the next.
To Illana, who she scared with a flash of light, and then to Amaranth, who startled with a sudden bite to the cheek. Harvest was another easy delivery, simply left to the side while her sister worked on the final thread.
Well, maybe Noelani licked her ear.
It didn't distract her.
Noelani kept moving, sliding to Feral, who she found in an interesting position with fair Melody... She took a mental picture to use in one of her paintings, and left the thread on the sheets. Ilvarti tried to stop her from interfering with Seraphina, but Noelani had long-since learned how to get past him, sliding between his legs, and then Seraphina's dress. She fled a fireball, and readied herself for the home stretch.
Hecate got a thread deposited into her tea, and Celeste found her hairbrush missing, with a thread in its place. Noelani would return it... If she could remember where she'd just put it. To sweet Vega, Noelani granted a tackling hug, followed by a spin in the air, and then a prompt disappearance. When Vega looked up from the ground, she blew her hair out of her face, and found the thread in front of her.
Then there was only one thread left, and it was already where it was meant to be. Noelani booped her nose, her lips making a round shape, but no sound came out.
The vision sped forward, as each sister stayed with their mist-imbued threads, and then eventually passed them on to Celeste, for the next step in a complex ritual. As she took upon the last -- delivered in characteristic fashion by Noelani, Celeste began her work, and the vision fades...
