Aerothar, now more focused on his ascension to lichdom and the establishment of his kingdom in the Midnight Obscura, watched from the shadows as Descott’s influence in Glosmordin grew. Though he had failed to control Descott, Aerothar took a perverse satisfaction in knowing that the chaos and fear wrought by the vampire were his doing. However, Aerothar also understood that Descott's unchecked power could eventually threaten his own plans, leading him to keep a watchful eye on his former summoning. But the chaos worked to his advantage and through the ritual to become a lich destroyed the lands around Veropia and succeded in his acension to Lichdom
