Personal history

Aerothar was born into the prestigious House of Darieus in the heart of Veropia, a kingdom known for its rich history and powerful mages. From an early age, Aerothar displayed an extraordinary aptitude for the arcane arts, quickly surpassing his peers and even his mentors. His ambitions, however, went far beyond what the scholars of Veropia could offer. He hungered for power that transcended the boundaries of life and death, leading him down a path of forbidden knowledge. As Aerothar delved deeper into the dark arts, he became fixated on the concept of necromancy, particularly the control and manipulation of the undead. His research led him to try and control powerful undead. This led him to the discovery of Descott Lear, a fearsome undead warrior from the distant realm of Alcyria. Bound to an unknown necromancer in his homeland, Descott was a terror on the battlefield, his cursed existence granting him strength and endurance beyond mortal comprehension.   Driven by a desire to harness this power for his own ends, Aerothar undertook a series of complex and dangerous rituals to summon Descott to Glosmordin. The summoning was successful, and Descott was brought into Aerothar’s presence. However, the warrior’s will was far too strong to be easily controlled. Once freed from the bindings of his previous master, Descott broke free from Aerothar's influence, leaving the mage with a bitter lesson in the dangers of overreaching ambition.   Despite this setback, Aerothar’s thirst for power only grew. His continued experiments and the growing fear of his dark practices eventually led to his exile from Veropia. Taking with him his most loyal followers and the dark knowledge he had amassed, Aerothar left his homeland, seeking a place where he could continue his pursuit of power without interference.   His journey led him to the Midnight Obscura, a shadowy and enigmatic realm where the boundaries between life and death were thin, and the energies of darkness flowed freely. In this realm, Aerothar found the perfect environment for his work. He carved out his own kingdom within the Midnight Obscura, a land shrouded in perpetual twilight where he could rule as he saw fit.   Aerothar established his stronghold in the heart of this dark domain. From his citadel, Aerothar expanded his influence, drawing to him a legion of followers, both mortal and undead, who were drawn to his power and promises of dominion.   Though the Midnight Obscura was ruled by many powerful entities, Aerothar’s kingdom became one of the most feared. His knowledge of necromancy and dark magic grew, and with it, his power. In time, Aerothar performed the ultimate ritual, transforming himself into a lich. By placing his soul within a phylactery, he achieved a form of immortality, ensuring that his reign over his shadowed kingdom would endure for eternity.   Aerothar’s presence in the Midnight Obscura became a whispered legend, his kingdom a place of fear and mystery. His followers grew in number, drawn by his dark charisma and the promise of power in a world where the strong thrived and the weak were consumed. Though he ruled his own domain, Aerothar's gaze was ever outward, always seeking new ways to expand his power and influence both within the Midnight Obscura and beyond, into the realms of Glosmordin and Veropia.   Even in exile, Aerothar’s name remained a symbol of dread in Veropia. Stories of the dark mage who had delved too deeply into forbidden magic served as a warning to those who might follow in his footsteps. But in the shadowed kingdom of the Midnight Obscura, Aerothar’s power continued to grow, a constant reminder that darkness, once unleashed, is not easily contained.
