History

An archaic society that has known peace for the majority of its conception. The City-state of Distone has remained safeguarded for many years by its protectorates. Armed with the balance of nature at their fingertips, they repel those who seek to harm the land and reap its luster. It is abode to many inhabitants of creatures not witnessed in other provinces such as the Leshys, Sprites, and even sometimes Feywild creatures are known to appear.

Deliverance

Long ago, this land underwent a significant event known as Deliverance. A legend that was once said to have occurred during the Age of Divinity. Where the land would erupt in a violent earthquake and ravage its realm, molding it into a new land befitting of cultivating new life.
The very ground would diverge into cavernous layers from the tremors. Massive passages that weave through the soil would provide a comfortable environment. Life would be nurtured anew as both new and old inhabitants would integrate themselves into these altered grounds. Invigorated by the blessing of the Deliverance, creatures native to this land became blessed with innate abilities that enhanced their original physical capabilities. These skills were akin to abilities seen by seasoned warriors, and educated mages alike.
For example, grizzly bears could wield enough strength to shatter boulders, wolves could move with a gale-like-wind to hunt prey. Even chickens could obtain a semblance of flight and even subtle magical properties that enabled them to cast cantrips. While many of these creatures bear a great semblance to their natural counterparts, they are often misunderstood and often give travelers a sudden fright.

The Silvertree of Gaia

Shimmering with a white sheen from the sun's rays, these silver trees are one of the most valuable resources known in the region. Despite being dubbed the name silver, it is not made of such material. It is a soft kind of lumber that can be magically enhanced and morphed similarly to cold iron, but without the negative effects that typically coincide with it.
At the core of the forest of Silver Trees, there lies an ancient Silverwood tree that towers over the rest. Worshiped by the The Naturalists of Gaia,they dedicate to the deity known as Gaia, the mother deity and heart of Iberia.

Environment

Ever since Deliverance transpired, the land is abnormally structured. Distone is known to carry a diverse set of environments that resembles the feywild to a slightly less dangerous degree. From a vast underground cave system to undergrowth forests that spans for miles to even feywild-like ponds that erupt with magic. Distone boasts one of the largest wellsprings of Leylines in the Aliech continent. Yet it remains unclaimed as the protectorates of the forest, and The Naturalists of Gaia will refute those who attempt to do so.

Government

There isn't an established government, rather more so that all creatures and individuals do their part to defend the forest. The most powerful individuals play roles to speak or the forest, attempting to instill some form of order and or protection on their behalf.
Such individuals can be seen by Eldest Chrysanthemum "Mum"  and the organization The Naturalists of Gaia.
