Lun Sect

History

The Lun Sect is a City-State that follows the Dao, a religious term and faith that inspires individuals to cultivate their own skills in order to reach enlightenment. They are both symbolized by a green circle with a hole in the middle. Dao is referred interchangeably as a path, or faith depending on the context and situation it is utilized.    Throughout its history, the Lun Sect has often refuted visitors. They do this believing that outsiders taint individuals from living their "path" in life as such is described by their faith. To adhere to their homeland's ways, and to encourage them to stay, the amount of interaction between other regions remains limited.   They are located in between the two major factions known as The Aliech Kingdom and The Septum Confederation. It is considered one of the Middle Independent City-States of the Aliech Continent.   Many of these residents rigorously dedicate themselves to their craft. However, a considerable amount of these techniques and skills are only shared through its own region. Much of which is only retained through their students, as their skills are rarely ever written down, but are passed through word of mouth. Its people have garnered a reputation for their abilities, along with their elongated lives.   When contrasted to regular humanoids who only live but at most 100 years, those of the Lun Sect have been known to almost live multiple years longer than the average individual. Some of them are rumored to even reach 300 years of age due to their enlightenment.   This is seen in their most reputable leader named Ariya, a monk who sought the Dao and reached enlightenment after comprehending the 4 Paths of Truths. He is rumored to live with no need for sustenance to survive and to have lived for thousands of years. Ayria is often seen teaching his disciplines throughout various temples of the Lun Sect, drifting and teaching from site to site.

Cultural Differences and Changes

With little to no outside commerce, it is often a country that is overlooked by others nations, save for their skilled workers. Though, in recent times this has begun to change. As the land becomes impeded by internal turmoil and hostile environments, various splinter sects have begun to leave. By acquiring new knowledge and engaging in trade with other regions, the Lun Sect is slowly integrating into the outside realms through these cultural exchanges.   Its citizens are often dressed in cultural tattoos, markings, and other forms of relevant symbology to their faith in their Dao. For example, if one were a smith, they would see a marking of an anvil. If one were a farmer, one would see the markings of a sickle. These can be inferred as their Caster's Insignia in a way.   While Insiginas grants the users the ability to catalyze Mana into Spells, these magical Tattoos are designed specifically for the usage of their respective faith. So many of these people bear familial magical tattoos that are passed down and enhanced from generation to generation.
