The Nexus Wars

Past of Nexus

The past of this region is best described as a war that has never truly ceased. It was only after many subjugations, unification and diplomatic truces were the governing bodies able to formulate the current status quo of the region. Choosing to host political wars over senseless slaughter, they began to usher in a somber peace with what little remains of their former population. Ironically, the population drop due to the wars has made it more manageable for those left alive.

Nexus Presently

The war remains ongoing but it is more so for entertainment overseas, akin to a gladiator fight. Highly prolific battles are recorded to showcase battles between the faction's fighting automata forces such as the Magicas, Armslas, and Muds. The winners of these battles get the profit off the bets, while the losers forfeit their losses to be auctioned off or reused by the winners, it's an all or nothing battle. These fights are known to be a fiscal stimulus that benefits all parties interested in war.   Rarely do actual humanoids fight in these battles due to the dwindling population and desire to preserve life, skill, and talent. Only when a state declares a claim on a region are when these individuals mobilized. However, many of these recordings are known to be highly tampered, and subject to bias.

Outer Influence

Today, many civilizations in the Aliech Continent view the Nexus Wars as entertainment. Other civilizations have minor roles or none in contrast to the Aliech Region. Given that the battlefield is displayed in a fashionable manner suitable for consumption of entertainment, few see wrongdoing of it and prefer this rather than senseless violence.

Control of Nexus, Present Day

While the war is presently at a stalemate, there have been further claims passed by the lands of Myriad upon the Nirath Empire.   Presently Myriad occupies the most land and has won the most recent skirmishes in the past 10 years. Dubbed the Winds of War, the region is known to be a no man's land equivalent in WWI. Yet, they have conquered this land and now occupy it.   With the overwhelming force of the massproduction Armslas and Mobile Armored Structures (MASs), people expect the borderlines to shift drastically.   The Nirath Empire has lost most of its ground from the previous wars' claims.   The Crown of Gold remains an impenetrable fortress due to its alchemical prowess, preventing the other two factions from gaining many claims from them.
