Mayor Jonark Uptal

Mayor Jonark Uptal has enjoyed 11 years as mayor of Kassen and is looking forward to being elected for a fourth term in the next few months. He is hoping that this year's Quest for the Everflame goes smoothly, especially with the young townsfolk being sent off this year. He cares deeply for Kassen and its people, settling land disputes and other quibbles fairly and often while helping to ease tensions on both sides. He is more likely to side with Kassen's townsfolk than he is any outsiders without irrefutable evidence (with the exception of the ongoing prank war Tang and Ring Ibbleting are waging against Colbin Ventar over the last several months.)
Jonark is a jovial man with a wide, often smiling, face and neatly trimmed beard. Never the most active of in Kassen, he's gone to fat these days, his rotund belly stretching his robes to their limits as of late. He is prone to worry over details and things not going as planned, especially when he's trying to put on a grand show for his constituents. While he may appear a fool, he's a shrewd man and has been instrumental in preventing the woodcutter's guild from trying to bleed Kassen dry over the past decade, especially since Colbin took over as guildmaster several years ago.
