Atlantica Stadium "The Pit"

Atlantica Stadium, “The Pit”

Port Atlantica’s first official sports stadium, nicknamed “The Pit”. When a rift dropped a half-collapsed gladiatorial arena in the middle of midtown, inspiration struck and the location was quickly bought up, fixed up, expanded upon, and turned into a modern soccer/football stadium to entertain the good people of Atlantica! The stadium has a seating capacity of around 60,000 people, and its sky view can be closed so the stadium can act as shelter in emergency situations.   Atlantica Stadium hosts games mostly involving local teams from across Port Atlantica, but occasionally hosts other special events. Atlantica has three primary leagues; the Mens’ League, the Womens’ League, and the Super League.

The Port Atlantica Super League.

Given Atlantica’s unique nature drawing in not only an impressive amount of meta humans, but also other species with incredible abilities from across the multiverse, it was decided a unique soccer league would be formed. The Atlantica Super League allows all manner of individuals with incredible powers or other methods of enhancement to compete in an expanded rule set to allow for exciting but also safe games. Those with super powers, or natural abilities that may go beyond human ability, as well as a number of cybernetics and gadget use that must be cleared by a council of judges who determine what powers or additions are both safe to use and do not undermine the entertainment factor and balance of the game. Examples of additional rules applied to the super team include: not using powers to harm the other players, no super speed over a certain limit, no teleporting the ball, and no hiding the goal behind force fields or other obstacles.   The Super League currently has four teams from different corners of Atlantica participating.
The Midtown Nexus Sentinels.
Largely made up of metahumans with a wide variety of powers, Midtown’s team’s mascot is a made up superhero known as the Nexus Sentinel with a costume that is very similar to the team uniform. They’re known for fair play and creative use of their powers.
The Southside Ravagers.
Southside’s team has a number of mutants on its roster, and a few metahumans that may have had criminal pasts or that part might be partially made up for publicity Their mascot is the Ravager, who somewhat resembles a wasteland warrior out of a post apocalyptic story. The team is known to be the underdogs.
The Northern Heights Highlanders.
A team with heavy funding, utilizing a large amount of gadgets, special training, and cybernetics. The Northern Heights mascot is a celtic warrior woman complete with blue body paint and a sword. Some view the team elitist thanks to all the money thrown into it, others like it for being completely based on skill and technology.
The Nine Rings; Nine Jinni.
A team mostly made up of Atlantica’s non-human residents, as well as a few magic users. The mascott, the Nine Jinni, is a horned and fanged Ifrit who is actually a real individual and the team’s manager. The team has a reputation for playing dirty, but this is mostly a combination of creative use of the team’s talents and a lot of purposeful showmanship.
