Nova Sky

Nova Sky is a Nightclub located on the eastern edge of the Nine Rings Entertainment District of Port Atlantica, near Shadow Grove Park. The building was once a small convention hall of unimaginative architecture some five stories in height. Outside, the most notable feature of Nova Sky is the massive communications array that has been erected on its rooftop, boasting dishes and antenna, as well as a neon sign. The interior of the building is a sprawling affair, with the main lobby boasting tables, chairs, merchandise stands, the main bar and food stalls. The lobby gives way on the left to a large indoor pool, boasting its own bar, lifeguards, diving board, innumerable pool toys and its bottom is often lit by glow sticks thrown into the pool to give the water an eerie glow. To the right of the main lobby are the coat rooms, restrooms, and emergency stations for staff to take care of patrons that may have collapsed due to exhaustion or over indulgence.
Bracketed by the two wings of the lobby, the dance floor of Nova Sky is reached by descending from stadium seating. Immense screens hang in the air above, and more behind the stage with an elaborate DJ booth. Cameras can capture dancers in the throes of a good time and put their faces on the large screens. Laser lights, strobes and other visual effects are all a standard part of the Nova Sky experience.
Two atriums rise above the ground floor, each with their own bar. There is space to dance on each. The second floor has numerous semi-private booths along its outermost perimeter where patrons who need a rest (or a tryst) can have their space. Higher still, at the third floor, are the VIP booths, equally semi-private but far larger than those on the first floor-- a playground for large groups or for the very wealthy.
Nova Sky is expanding, with the buildings stretching all the way back to Shadow Grove Park being razed to make way for new and elaborate construction. The final form of Nova Sky will prove to be a truly massive structure if the scale of the project is anything to go by.

FOOD STALLS

BUY THE SLICE: They sell pizza, popcorn, and a variety of gourmet nuts as well as bottled water. The prices a reasonable, the lines move fast and they have a rotating menu from which they serve three kinds of pizza per evening.
TACO HUT: Here can be found some excellent tacos, water and horchata. As with Buy The Slice, the lines move quickly and they have a vast rotating menu from which they serve three kinds of taco per evening.
ONNA STICK: A kebab joint-- "If you can't put it on a stick, it's not worth eating!" goes the slogan. Onna Stick pioneered the 'rotating menu' policy at Nova Sky and while their lines do not move quite so quickly as the other two food stalls and the prices are slightly higher, those who have tried food from Onna Stick are always pleased.

STAFF / EMPLOYEES

MAXIME JUNEU: General Manager of The Nova Sky Project, he is an affable man in his fifties and somewhat unconventional. Even in high rolling meetings, Maxime wears a Hawaiian shirt, shorts and sandals, eschewing the stuffy trappings of boardrooms. Extremely passionate about music, he despises what the global music industry has become.
ABRAGIL VESPA: Event Coordinator for The Nova Sky Project. A diminutive half elf woman, always dressed with feminine style and possessed of grace, she is the backbone of Nova Sky. Without her, the project would be nothing but a collection of parts sitting atop a pile of money. Abragil does all of the scheduling, the promoting and the lions share of the planning.
CEDELLA BAXTER: Talent Manager for The Nova Sky Project. A tall Jamaican woman in her late thirties, Cedella takes care of the hiring of staff into The Nova Sky Family. An excellent judge of character, she has the best interests of her 'Family' at heart. A sweet woman, quick to joyful laughter, she is also not one to be taken advantage of.
SIGVALD SEVEN-THREE: Head of Security for The Nova Sky Project. A 'Rifter', he has been in Port Atlantica since the early days of the Great Tear. He is a large, anthropomorphic Doberman man, bristling with cybernetics-- most notably his eyes, which look like spheres of solid chrome. Laconic, reasonable, he is not at all bothered by small infractions within Nova Sky, but clamps down hard on anything that is serious.
NUBBY & SPARKLE: Operations Directors for The Nova Sky Project. A pair of mated kobolds in coveralls, Nubby can oft be heard muttering crankily to himself about this problem or other, while Sparkle seems all but immune to being flustered. The two have made their den in the boiler room, where they raise their hatchlings.
NATASHA "TASHA" VAVILOV: Food & Beverage Manager for The Nova Sky Project. An Eastern European woman of difficult to determine age (thirty? fifty? who can say?) she is the "Food & Bev Baba Yaga". Tasha is fair, but extremely firm and tolerates no shrink, no waste, and no slacking.
GURDIP RAMDIN: Head of Acquisitions for The Nova Sky Project. Hailing from India, Gurdip seems capable of getting his hands on anything that Nova Sky might require. From signage to bunting to light fixtures to bathroom tile, all things seem to pass through Gurdip's hands -- or he has a cousin who knows someone that can get it. A popular drinking game has begun with the staff: any time Gurdip says "I have a cousin who--" they take a drink.
MISTRESS BLACKSTRAP: Head of Human Resources for The Nova Sky Project. An aged matron, plump, with her hair in a severe bun, she takes care of disputes between employees or between employees and Nova Sky. An obvious Witch (it's the black pointy hat that gives it away) she is efficient but intolerant of fictitious or spurious complaints.

SILENT OWNERS

MISTER SUIT: A man of indeterminate ethnicity, so ordinary and unforgettable in appearance that few can remember exactly what he looks like even when they get a second or third look at him. Mister Suit is the economic power house behind The Nova Sky Project... which is fitting, as he is The Endless of Commerce, The King of Coin. On paper, Mister Suit owns Nova Sky, but he is actually just there to grease the wheels and ensure that the project can come to fruition.
SYLVIA VARNAS: Better known as "Sapphire", The Endless of Music, The Shattered Siren provided the raw funds for the creation of The Nova Sky Project. It is a passion project for her, to create a home where music can live, to break apart the stranglehold of the music industry and to help her heal from many lifetimes of troubles.
