Piaobo Doctrine
A religious doctrine that believes in an over-encompassing force that gives life to the universe known as Piaobo. Rather than the creator of the universe, it IS the universe itself, putting in motion the seemingly random rythms of its designs. Piaobo believes in a fate set in stone; that all is written and unavoidable, and that the path of least resistance is the path which was meant to be taken. The religion encourages a search for happiness, as well as an ever-changing, and morally grey code of ethics.
Sigil
The Crashing Wave:
A wave crashing inside a circular symbol. It symbolizes the fluid but undeniable rhythm of the universe.
Tenets of Faith
- Follow your instincts, as they are the very words of the universe guiding you
- Life is buried silver; one must dig out the dirt to behold the shine
- There is no such thing as luck; everything happens for a reason
Worship
Piaobo worship is a very intimate and personal affair. It is often worshipped in remote temples that are isolated, removed temples in populated areas, and personal family shrines. Piaobo prayer is akin to meditation.
Priesthood
Piaobo Priests are considered to have visions of the future and offer guidance in what is to come. In more urban sectors, they are granted riches and respect, though they are typically expected to live in reflection and isolation. In more rural areas, Piaobo priests are seen as wise elders, donned with the story of the universe. They are sought out for guidance in all matters of life.
Sects
Karmic Piaobo:
Amongst some of the poorer classes of Oman, there is an insistence in the idea of a judging Piaobo; a universe that rewards good actions and punishes bad actions. This idea is contrary to the base tenants of the belief but somehow co-exists with the Piaobo Doctrine in the 'Karmic Sect'. The World's Piaobo
The sect of the religion worshipped by the Dryad, who originated the belief proper. It is the same as the official doctrine, but containing more natural elements. Dryads are innately born with this belief, and must 'unlearn it' to change their minds.
