Arou Val

The Drinlo clan has lived on the Golden Plains for many centuries. They trace their ancestry back to nomadic tribes from far off lands. These days the clan's chieftains have left much of their nomadic ways behind them, though many of their people still hold on to a nomadic lifestyle.
In Arou Val, the capital of the Drinlo Clan, is located on a hill in the Golden Plains. The city is built in three layers, with the two lower layers surrounded by a palisade, and the upper layer surrounded by a large stone wall. On the lower level live the workers and artisans. On the second layer are the estates of nobles and essential workshops. Within the walls of the upper layers lives the chieftain with his family, as well as his most trusted advisors and generals.
The history of the city is perfectly represented by its architecture. The few great buildings are old Burbric castles and temples, while the newer houses, estates and workshops are built according to Olor customs and traditions. Ruins of old Burbric bazaars and palaces are now designated places for Drinlo nomads to set up their tents as they visit the city.
While many of the permanent citizens of live in permanent housing, almost all of them have gardens where they still keep tents. These are used for ceremonial purposes, during important family occasions and holidays.
