Asken
"About a day travel south of Assaen lies the city of Asken. Asken has a long history, though much of the city is relatively new. It is one of the important trade hubs on the Sunset Coast, and a major player in the Asaica Bay.
Asken was founded where of old was Asaica, a Preic city from before the Burbric Empire. During the Burbric conquests the city was razed and destroyed. It was rebuilt under the rule of the Callaeran kings, though it wasn't until the magistrates' effort to revitalize the Sunset Coast and its settlements that it started to blossom again. In a few decades the city became a major trading port in the Asaica Bay area, and for years it has been a thorn in the side of the city of Assaen. If it wasn't for this pesky little city, Assaen would have dominated the bay and all the trade in it.
Within Asken you'll find canals, lined by rows of houses, many of which have their own little gardens. Small boats navigate the waters and distribute wares from the harbour through the city.
Asken castle, which serves as a palace more than a castle, is the home of Arland Romenci, the Patrician of Asken. His family has played a vital part in the city's prosperity and made it a worthy opponent of the much larger city of Assaen."
