Castle von Kährlich
Kährlich is a small motte-and-bailey located in the southern reaches of the The Great Vale.
In 1135 AP the knight Tigor was granted the Kährlich estate by the Baron of Vallendal, making the man a lowly noble. Since then the House von Kährlich has lived there and been loyal to the Baron of Vallendal.
In 1139 AP an exiled dwarven family arrived at the gates of the castle. Sir Tigor took them in and they entered his retinue. The two families grew very close over the years.
Over a century later the castle has seen two von Kährlichs pass away and is now owned by Osgor von Kährlich, father of Igor von Kährlich. Gorm, the youngest member of the dwarven family that arrived so long ago, is still a close friend of the family. All three fought together in many battles in the War of the Vale. When the war ended Osgor returned home to the castle. Igor instead set out on his own journey, hoping to find peace after the war, followed by Gorm who intents to reunite with his friend.
At the castle Osgor is overseeing the reparations of his estate and the surrounding hamlets. The war ended three months ago and resulted in a stalemate. With neither side of the war getting any sort of resolution the tension is still high, and Osgor fears the slightest provocation might set off anther war.
