Jaerak

"Among the highest peaks of the Raemar Range Are numerous dwarven villages. One such village is the village of Jaerak, built atop a steep rock. Its meandering streets lead up to the imposing entrance of the Undercity of the same name.   The Undercity of Jaerak was named after its founder, who lived in the days of the old dwarven kingdoms. His clan started the construction of the Undercity and its great entrance, which was finished by his grandson around 2000 BP.   During the Dragon War the city was one of the save havens for refugees. As more refugees fled to the city, they started settling in from of the city gates. This refugee camp became the foundation of the surface village of Jaerak.   After the Dragon War, the entrance to the Undercity has been expanded to include several towers and a shrine to the Mountain Spirits. In the following centuries the camp expanded with permanent homes and residences and the village was recognized by the Dwarven King.   These days the village makes for an imposing sight as travellers make their way up the mountain, as stone houses with intricately carved dwarven patterns are built against the steep cliffs, with the grand Undercity Entrance looming over it in the background."   D.
