Saskaar
"Amidst the Delasis Delta lies the modest town of Saskaar. It has a prominent place in the history of Tarnen as the first capital, until the seat of the Tarnish kings was moved to Akamtis in the early 4th century AP. The Palace of Saskaar still reminds the people of the importance that the town once had, though it is now only a recreational residence of the king.
The town is located along one of the major branches of the Delasis River and sees a lot of trade. There are many markets across the town, the most notable of which is the High market, located on an elevated square between the temple of Soldakar and the Palace of Saskaar.
The Temple of Soldakar is another famous site int eh region. Dedicated to the God of the Sun, it plays a prominent role in the daily live of the people of Saskaar. Many festivals and celebrations are held in honor the God.
The final notable location is the Palace, a grand structure that was once the home of the Kings of Sankarsit and later the kings of Taria. In the early 4th century AP the kingship passed to a dynasty from the south and the capital was moved to the larger city of Akamtis. For a few centuries the palace functioned as a bathhouse, bazaar and government office, until the was repurposed as a recreational residence of the king; one among several in the region. The king often visits during regional celebrations and is a welcome visitor in Saskaar."
