Delasis Delta

Tarnen is among the largest states on the continent, but the majority of there population located in the Delasis Delta & Peninsula, a fertile land of abundance and a paradise amidst hostile lands.
The heart of the Kingdom of Tarnen is surrounded by deadly geography; the Scorched Sands to the north are an inhospitable land where the burning heat and lack of moisture make it nearly impossible to survive. To the east are the Shifting Sands, a vast desert where maelstroms can form without warning, sucking in anyone and anything that happens to be too close. To the north are the tall and impassable Ballaeran mountains. Between these hostile lands the people of Tarnen have made their home in the Delasis Delta and Peninsula, where they thrived and built one of the greatest realms of Wordal.
The delta meanders through a wide valley flanked by two cliffs, forming countless fertile islets dotted with farms, villages, towns and cities. It a land of abundance and beauty. Green thickets provide plenty of wildlife and timber and the rivers a full with fish. Amidst this delta is the Great City of Akamtis, the jewel capital of Tarnen. The city is home to libraries, universities, great temples, beautiful gardens and luxurious palaces. Scholars from around the continent come to visit the city in search for knowledge.
Via the Serpent Stairs or the coastal road to the south, you reach the peninsula of Delasis to the west, made up of lush jungles and green fields, fertile and safe. Farmlands decorate the peninsula, while towns and villages line the coast, with the Lighthouse of Wassares watching over the region.
These lands are where the Tarnish people have thrived for over a millennia, an isolated paradise away from the rest of the continent. It is a place of wealth and wonder.
