Yith
The Yith are the ancestral original race of the Yoronith species. They had a much harder time reproducing, but produced no strange varients. In comparison to the Yoronith they had a greater ability to repair significant damage to species and were sought after as physicians, but also considered creepy even at the time. Yoro who altered the species to ease its ability to propagate then felt that the old Yith should be eliminated leaving only the purer strain. The Yoronith spent a generation seeking out the Yith, killing them and eliminating as much of the record of their existence and culture as possible.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Yith have a fantastic ability to sense the health of individuals at a distance through smell and sight alone. This enhanced perception also helps in tracking individuals and they were frequently sought after as battle physicians and bounty hunters.
Genetics and Reproduction
Unlike the Yoronith the Yith are capable of propagating by normal impregnation. They are a male only species and only capable of propagating by impregnating women of other species. The pregnancies tend to be difficult and take a slower time, typically 14 months. Given this, the Yith were well known for their medical and midwifery expertise.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Unlike their offshoots the Yoronith, they do not have the biologic abnormality that requires brain matter, or leads to headaches without a telepathic soothing signal from a controller. They are omnivores, though they do best with a healthy mix of fats in their diet as it supports their sensory and telepathic abilities.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
The Yith often take given names from the culture of their mother, and the family name from their father. These family names are often based on technical terms and ideas for scents. These include, Petrichor, Musk, Attar, Savor, Floral, and Earthan. Last names also use highly specific words not found in other languages for very technical smell analysis, these include Puteleen, Aspifor, and Urleat.
Major Organizations
If they exist they focus primarily on not being noticed.
Relationship Ideals
Parenthood was the most important thing given the difficulty of reproduction. A Yith with extensive living and capable children and grandchildren is honored above all.
EXTINCT
Genetic Descendants
Lifespan
130 years
Conservation Status
It is believed they are extinct. No group wants to see them as they are visually like the Yoronith.
