Capt. Maya East
Maya East is the captain of The Burning Heart, an small-medium sized island mining vessel that sails the Ondine Sea. She runs the ship alongside her small crew, made up of: Katie May, in charge of equipment, weapons and maintenance, Martha Honey-Dekken-May, responsible for catering, engineering and tech support, Peter Tagg, an expert navigator, and Tetra Saffier, a Mermaiden who works as a lookout while sailing and leads their underwater mining work.
Physical Description
Body Features
Maya is a tall and broad-shouldered woman with warm dark skin and a toned muscular build. She is solidly built, sporting toned arms and legs, a broad rectangular torso and a below-average bust. Her legs are fairly long, making up for a notable portion of her height.
Special abilities
Maya inherited fire generating and fire resistance abilities from her mother, while not anywhere near as strong as her mother, she is still able to create blazing hot fireballs and create searing heat from the palms of her hands. While she rarely uses the abilities in any kind of combat situation, they do come in handy when a fire needs lighting. A curious quirk of her abilities is that her fire has a magenta tinge to the flames, possibly due to her Lofi heritage.
Apparel & Accessories
Maya typically dresses fairly lightly, both to keep cool in the warm temperatures of her homeworld and to allow for freedom of movement.
While on her ship, she is typically seen wearing a knee-length open purple jacket, a comfy tube-top and baggy trousers tucked into shin-high faux leather boots. Her jacket was a hand-me-down from her mother given when Maya was given The Burning Heart, it is a little oversized for her so has been customised to better fit her. The sleeves have been significantly shortened and given a purple cuff, a soft matching-coloured lining has also been added, along with several extra interior and exterior pockets.
When relaxing she will typically switch to a much simpler outfit. This outfit usually consists of a tank top, cargo shorts and a pair of sandals or foam clogs.
She is almost always seen with a purple metal flame-shaped pendant attached to her belt loop with an amethyst gem embedded in the middle.
