The Demonweb Pits
Lloth prepared for her metamorphosis by relocating her domain from the 66th layer of The Abyss to a separate, more secure location - The Demonweb Pits. During her transformation, The Silence of Lloth caused chaos among the Drow, including the fall of Ched Nasad. Menzoberranzan sent High Priestess Quenthal with a party to discover why their goddess stopped answering prayers and granting spells. Quenthel Baenre, the most chosen of Lloth's priestesses, was the only one to return to The Material Plane alive and unchanged.
The Demonweb Pits, also known as the Abyssal Web, is a treacherous and malevolent plane of existence within the multiverse. It is the dark domain ruled by the sinister goddess Lolth, the Spider Queen, and it serves as the home of the drow and numerous other wicked creatures.
The plane itself is characterized by a perpetual twilight, where eerie shadows and dim light cast an oppressive atmosphere. The air is thick with the scent of decay and the presence of venomous spiders and other abominable creatures lurking in every corner. The Demonweb Pits embody chaos and malevolence, with the very fabric of the plane resonating with the dark and destructive energy of the Abyss.
Venturing into the Demonweb Pits is a perilous undertaking for any mortal being. The plane is teeming with fiendish creatures, monstrous spiders, and other grotesque denizens of the Abyss. Those who dare to traverse its twisted paths risk becoming lost forever, trapped in the suffocating webbing, or falling victim to the deadly predators that prowl its depths.
The Demonweb Pits represent a dark and foreboding corner of the multiverse, where the influence of Lolth and the malevolent forces of the Abyss are at their strongest. It is a place of unending treachery, where survival and power are earned through cunning and ruthlessness. To the drow and other followers of Lolth, it is both a home and a twisted reflection of their own sinister desires.
