Huge mountains cover the landscape for miles in every direction. Small forests used to thrive but they were chopped down and used for fuel in the Lyrium mines.

The sandy surface of the moon is plagued by sandstorms that engulf the man-made structures, leaving the residents stranded for days.

Something lurks in the dark craters of Selune. Scientists and researchers are hesitant to go anywhere near them and those who do usually never return.

History

In the story told by The Chantry, the moon was once blessed with the essence of an ancient dragon named Selune . This essence seeped into the center of the moon and crystalized, forming Lyrium. Many years afterward, a large mass of the moon fell to Kios and alerted the public to the existence of the strange and powerful crystals. Soon the surface of the moon was dotted with research outposts and mines meant to harvest the material.
