Icewraith Expanse
North of The Ironfang Mountains is the infamous glacier known as The Icewraith Expanse. Deep crevasses and tunnels throughout the glacier threaten to swallow any traveler unlucky enough to break through the surface. If the harsh weather conditions and treacherous terrain were not enough to make this place an undesirable location to visit, the legends of demons hiding below the ice dissuade any remaining notion of exploration.
Climate
The mountain glacier has been gaining mass due to the sharp temperature decline caused by the muting of The Dragonstar's Light. The gritty ash from the conflagration has given the glacier a filthy appearance. The melted flows appear dirty and the water is not clean enough for wildlife to drink.Wildlife
Snow Wrens, Frostfangs and Summitstriders are to be found near the mountains and along the edges of the glacier. This is lean country - every day is a struggle for the animals here. Now that daylight has been drastically reduced by the ashy skies, nature's balance has been thrown off kilter. Without The Light from The Dragonstar, the Snow Wrens have stopped singing - their magical notes no longer bless the desolate landscape. The Demonheart Vault
Deep under the ice, hidden from The Dragonstar's Light, lurk the forgotten ruins of an ancient prison built by The Voidbound Cult. Long since abandoned, the shadow demons that wander here have been without contact from a Demonlord or Warlock in many years. When our antagonist, Vareena The Warlock, loses her own fortress to The Ashen Eclipse & The Infernal Deluge, she seeks out The Demonheart Vault to rebuild her forces. The Demonheart Vault houses Elvish prisoners for blood rituals and Vampire feeding. Vrrosh, The Last Goblin, uses an oversized Magic Mirror hidden in Prison's tower to communicate with the Zalthor, The Demonlord. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to that frozen nightmare.
A very catchy article with a lot of possibilities. I wonder if the shadow demons ever leave the vault or anyone has tried to rescue the elves inside.
Thanks, Solstice! Marcus and The Oracle are hatching a plan to do exactly that. I mention their brainstorming session a bit in Marcus' recent article. It ends up being their call to action, a quest they give themselves.
