Jotunnsoul

Jotunnsouls, or Loylu's (Westerns dialectic) are mysterious undead creatures. Bearing resemblance to deer, these creatures are fast runners and can be quite painful to anyone who finds one in the wild. These creatures are typically Jotunns that died in combat of some kind, and thus are technically Armor Variants. This has been studied by quite a few wizards, and is considered an established fact.   Despite being an Armor Variant, they are quite different from normal Armor Variants, enough that they would be quite unique. These creatures typically only inhabit forests, but if their chosen victim wanders out, they can stray from the forests.   When a person is lost in a forest, and cannot find a way out, whether day or night, the Jotunnsoul will begin to target them. It attaches some sort of Manna energy, and a wizard can typically detect this, and cast it off. Most wizards, even weak ones, can detect and cast these off, so if there is a wizard in your group, you will likely be fine.   The stalking typically goes in three phases, the first of which is the most appreciable. Monsters appear less often, and will come toward you less. They are sometimes seen walking away from you after seeing you, which is more of a blessing than a curse. Sightings of the Jotunnsoul itself are rare during this time, and if it is seen, it's in the distance, and extremely well hidden. This can last several days, even weeks, so sometimes it's a blessing and not a curse.   The second phase begins with more heavy stalking. Most people become aware of the stalking at this time, as the Jotunnsoul appears quite often and quite close. It often dissappears, however, as soon as it appears. This often results in quick trips to the nearest wizard or religious institution and often curing of the mark. However, those that don't often suffer the consequences.
Finally, stage three arrives. The Jotunnsoul attacks and charges when the time is right, and it typically catches the victim off-guard. This is often mistaken as stage two as it continues to stalk for the right moment. The attack is a sweeping charge, using antlers to it's full advantage. This is typically quite crushing and often kills. More skilled fighters, however, can dodge this attack, and engage it properly. This involves a series of charges and violent slashing with horns.    When defeated, this creature can be used to collect a Deadened Soul as well as Shadowlocke. It's horns can be salvaged for Triple Dead Bones. Good materials anyday.

Basic Information

Anatomy

These creatures are deer with shadowy skin and sometimes ghostly blue skin.

Ecology and Habitats

These creatures latch onto people in forests, but can go anywhere a person with a marker goes.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

These creatures can tell a lot about things around the Marker, about the Manna nearby, which it uses to plan its attacks. This was deduced due to individuals reporting not to have been stalked at the time of the attack.
