High Rock

"Find a new hill, become a king." -Breton saying   High Rock is a province in northwestern Tamriel. Most of the province is inhabited by the Bretons, who have divided the province into multiple Breton city states and minor kingdoms. High Rock has also historically contained Orsinium, the City-State of the Orcs. High Rock encompasses the many lands and clans of Greater Bretony, the Dellese Isles, the Bjoulsae River tribes, and, by tradition, the Western Reach. The Bretons also have also historically owned many islands including, Betony and the Systres archipelago. The rugged highland strongholds and isolated valley settlements have encouraged the fierce independence of the various local Breton clans, resisting integration into a formal province or Imperial identity. Nonetheless, their language, bardic traditions, and heroic legends are a unifying legacy.    The 6 Kingdoms of High Rock are Daggerfall to the west, which plays host to the High King, the rocky, craggy kingdom of Shornhelm to the northwest, Wayrest to the south, a merchant hub that trades with most of Tamriel and the fractious kingdoms of Farrun and Jehanna to the cold northeast. The city state of Evermor lies to the regions southeast but declared itself independent following The Great War.    The native people of High Rock are majorly the Bretons, however in the country's most eastern region, known as The Reach, there are also a druidic group known as The Reachmen who claim to have been of that land before the man-mer. The Bretons are a quarrelsome people who often squabble among themselves to gain as much power and renown as they can. Many centuries ago their were hundreds of kingdoms that divided the country and neighbouring Hammerfell until The Miracle of Peace in 3E 417 (also known as the Warp in the West) united High Rock into 4 kingdoms, loyal to the High King and the Empire. Despite some of these kingdoms falling and others rising in their place, the region has been largely stable ever since.   Many creatures inhabit the land alongside the men, mer and beastfolk that have tamed it, including beasts such as wolves and bears, however rarer creatures like Centaurs roam these ancient lands.

High Rock accepts the Dominion into its territory. Whilst not loving the Thalmor, it opens up more trade for the region.
