Nemesis Graveyard

An expansion of the cemetery that Savage Ken forced his Dojo Hos to make for all his victims, this is where the dead rest among the waters and where temporary peace is made between the forces of light and those of ally with The Nether. Here, the dead are buried and agreements are arranged. To discourage violence on this island, those who incur negativity or begin to battle will be progressively turned to stone. It lies just South of the Dojo on the same mass of land.

Geography

The cemetery itself takes up about eight acres of the island and is mostly flat with a few rolling hills amidst the different gravesites. Although the limits of the graveyard are somewhat amorphous in shape, the edges of the space are clearly defined by a faint white, almost spectral, border along the ground. It is said that this defining edge is both a warning to the living and a beacon for the dead for the space of ghastly harmony they are about to enter.

Fauna & Flora

Unlike other parts of the island, Nemesis Graveyard is almost completely barren of the gorgeous foliage and sprawling, beautiful flora that the Masters Island is known for. Instead, there are trees which are completely stripped of their leaves, Earth clad in barren patches of dirt and dead grass & sloping hills formed from sediment and fractured rock formations.      There are exceptions to the overall floral composition, however, like the Sakura tree that once remained in constant blossom over her grave before Sinister absorbed what remained of her infected body. Now, it stands with a few, stubborn branches that bloom every year.      Besides the Yokai, there are no animals who roam or live in the Nemesis Graveyard. Even those who wander about the rest of Masters Island stay far away from the graveyard in fear of being attacked by the protective spirits. However, if one looks close enough, they can find the bird-like Tengu who spy on any and all who enter the graveyard.

Natural Resources

There is only one natural resource in the Nemesis Graveyard called Aka or The Red, a varying red substance which originates in all types of Yokai in the area. This substance has the uncanny property of giving one the "strength of the dead". This process differs depends on how Aka is "received" from the spirits.   Aka is meant to be received from a spirit which trusts the being it gives its Aka to with either its sins or its regrets. If one receives the sins of a Malevolent Yokai, they will slowly become a reflection of the Yami which embodies their kind and, ultimately, blacken their spirit. If one receives the regrets of the Benevolent Yokai, they will slowly become a reflection of the Hikari which embodies their kind and, conversely, purify their own souls.    When received through Yami, Aka is viscous, savory and a muddy shade of red. When received through Hikari, Aka is oily, sweet and an almost pink hue. Normally, the locals aware of Aka only interact with it when laying a dead member of their family to rest but it has discreetly become a supernatural substance that exacerbates the evils in men and enlightens the spirits of the righteous, thusly becoming a crude compass for those who wish to delve deeper into the primordial elements of Aether and Nether.    However, Aka alone will not allow someone to wield Aether and Nether. Because of the relationship building process required to receive Aka from even a single spirit, there have been none who have obtained a measurable amount of the strange fluid to become as prominent as one could be by harmonizing oneself to Aether and Nether. Even if one received Aka for decades, the effects it has are more so on a person's emotional compass and an earned, seamless ability to communicate with spirits of Yami or Hikari. In short, Aka is a literal relationship goal earned from communicating with the dead.   There have been rumors that Savage Ken's spirit sometimes roams the Nemesis Graveyard, still intent on being put to rest by "a gentle soul."

History

The Nemesis Graveyard came into existence at the pinnacle of Savage Ken's murderous streak in the Master's Dojo, becoming so full of hubris that he ordered his forced concubines, The Dojo Hos, to dig out graves for his current and future victims, sometimes even calling it the Victim Village.      The notable Dojo Hos that helped create the foundation of the cemetery were Rose Blossom and a feline boy named Kurosaki, both working arduously through the night until a massive plot of land had been devoted to the dead. Although Ken did bury some notable challengers in the graveyard, like Sakura Kasugano, many went unfilled and would continue to be unfilled for months after his death.      Once the threat of Savage Ken had been supposedly eliminated and replaced by the distant evils of Sinister Maharana, tourists from all across the Archipelago started to visit the graveyard. Though most saw it as an attraction or a place to meditate on the dead, survivors of the Far East Annihilation started to discover that their deceased had actually populated the graveyard as Yokai.      Though some appeared to be terrifying due to their Earthly deeds, some looked to be no more out of place than as a transparent apparition of their human vessels. This discovery drew more to the graveyard and, in turn, to start taking up residence in the Masters Dojo, repurposing it even more as a memorial not only to Ken but to those who fell by his hand.      This relative catharsis lasted for about a year before a group of British college students tried to exploit the supernatural occurrences in the graveyard for profit, soon drawing the wrong type of attention to a place meant for honoring the dead. As the disgraceful trend of abusing the sacred ground for social media grew, networks and producers for various ghost hunting programs, as well as internet personalities, made the place a rite of passage for their elevation to fame and fortune.      But this was cut short about four months into the trend when an Australian producer, named Lucas Carvey, was murdered by Kuchisake-onna. He believed it was a tourist trying to interfere with the taping of The Ghost Guys: Spooky Island Special until he was dismembered upon rejecting her beauty.      This event, as well as the rash disappearance of children, rumored to be the work of Yamauba, scared off most tourists and made the Nemesis Graveyard one of the only places where tourists are warned not to go. To this day, the large plot of land is the only one in the Archipelago where Ken's victims incite terror instead of the drunken ogre himself.

Tourism

Although tourism initially skyrocketed upon the discovery of the genuine supernatural elements of the graveyard, the violent reluctance of the Yokai ensured that only locals  and those brave enough to wander through its sacred space could enter.
