Ebonmar Castle

CASTLE EBONMAR is built upon ancient foundations and was one of the first bastions of Rhone on the eastern side of the peninsula. The original structure is long-gone and was itself raised up over a crumbling Eld fort or so the stories say although no one can agree on which monarch oversaw its construction. The locals and some of the older Rhuani families are uncomfortable discussing it and many refuse to step foot inside of it. This response is often dismissed by others as being superstitious about how doing so may impact the Queen's Return. The old families ignore such japes and keep their own counsel.

History

Mention of EBONMAR before it was claimed by the Rhonish Throne is vague and unclear. It simply seems to have appeared, fully constructed, the first time it is mentioned in the annals. One of the earliest of few notations is a brief description of a completed stone fort built on ancient foundations in that locale. There are several other similar entries and mentions that lack any name for the fortification. Despite attempts at scholarship, it has never been determined who commissioned or constructed it. This obfuscation seems almost accidental but, to certain scholars and certain old Rhuani families, it is with purpose.
