Kalus Mannyr
Lord-Knight Kalus Mannyr
The father of Kalel Mannyr and the former Lord Mannyr. Lord Kalus struggled bitterly to produce an heir and it was only on his 3rd marriage that he was blessed with a son. Rumors abound that Lady Mareith Brynagar had him cursed when she was set aside only a handful of years after their wedding. Most agree that it was not his second wife as she suffered an untimely death--drowning in the nearby river after several years of marriage with no children.
Lord KALUS was a gifted and brutal warrior whose talents were greatly prized by his liege, the Eorl of Eventide. It was this which spared Lord KALUS from much punishment for setting aside the daughter of an Eorl. It is believed that the Eventide Eorl even paid the severance in order to placate the Eorl of Swords from seeking out his daughter's brutal ex-husband. In 12 ET he married for a third time to a maiden of low nobility, Thelra Mannyr, and they have two surviving children--the present Lord-Knight Kalel Mannyr and his sister, . Even so, Lord KALUS was as horrible in personality as he was in war. He suffered foul moods of anger and violence. He drove away both his siblings with his cruelty, held his subjects in constant fear of him and yet still featured well in the tourneys and times of war such that no hand was brought against him in concert. The relationship between Lord KALUS and his son, Lord-Knight Kalel Mannyr was often described as 'complicated'. His funeral was poorly attended by his peers.

Family Ties
Lord KALUS MANNYR had horrible relations with his two siblings which was mainly the result of his cruelty and selfishness. He bullied them as children, commanded them as their lord and drove them both away by his actions. He was known to have outbursts, when consumed with that dark anger of his, wherein he would claim his brothers as having 'betrayed him'.
His first younger brother entered into the priesthood and died peacefully in the early 40's ET. The youngest brother, Ser Kantus Mannyr, was treated the worst and driven from BOLDROCK KEEP by his brother's actions. It is said that, as an honorable knight, Ser KANTUS took it upon himself to escort the Lady Mareith back to her family in the Eorldom of Swords after being set aside by KALUS. Having completed that task, Ser KANTUS remained in the Eorldom of Swords and began a family of his own--a single daughter who married into the Solaim family.
