The EORL OF THE WINDS, Theruin Solamyn, is an old and solitary individual. He has outlived his wife, two sons and two daughters and seems to have not considered that he might lay down this mortal burden for the reunion of the afterlife. A powerful warrior in his day, THERUIN is still considered a fine strategist but his lack of interest has been noticeable these past ten years. His voice can still be heard across the battlefield and he rarely is seen lounging in anything other than a spare or martial attire. Despite the rumors, those who know the EORL see no profit in attempting advantage over him—the EORL was too canny for too long to have lost it all

With all of his children having passed away, the future of the SOLAMYN line and the most likely inheritor of the EORLDOM likely rests within the offspring of the EORL's sister: his nephews of Vammar. If the EORL has made up his mind, he has done nothing to make his wishes known and so many fear that he will pass the EORLDOM into chaos should his heir go unnamed. His choices have seemed to narrow even further in that the eldest has conquered and reclaimed his father's lands in the MIDLANDS. The second-born Artean Vammar was slain in those same distant lands after the conquest is complete by an assassin's blade. Only the youngest, LAERIS, remains in the EORLDOM at this time.
