A minor RHUANI family that long lacked the affidavits of authenticity for their lineage. The actions of one family member led to their patronage by the THEOWAIN family. From here, the VALSCAR family heads have accrued a vassalage fief in perpetuity under The VALSCAR family holds a vassal knight fief from THEOWAIN in perpetuity. Since that time, the VALSCAR family has stood beside their patrons with a stubborness that some whisper reeks of a lack of imagination or ambition.

History
The VALSCAR lineage rose from obscurity through bravery on the field of battle. While they can claim descent from a storied RHUANI lineage, their lineage has been undocumented since the early founding of Rhone. It was this lack of certitude that led the family's descendants down a life of common military service. It was in -68 BL that the founder, Arnbrand Valscar, did give his own life to save his lord, the LORD URWYN THEOWAIN, on the field. The daughter of ARNBRAND was taken into service as a squire and, upon gaining her spurs, was granted a manor under the same lord.
Since that time, the VALSCAR line has served as faithful vassal knights to THEOWAIN and the EORLDOM OF SHIELDS.
