SER VOGDAND ARALANA is the unacknowledged son of the departed Lord Osran Aralana. His mother was a domestic and he was only made public to the court several years after the death of his father. For unknown reasons, he was raised in the ARALANA household after this time and treated to all of the perquisites of a noble lineage. He is now a knight errant and loyal defender of his family and the lands of the Southern Peninsula along with his close friend, Lord Sedras Orivon. Together they have sought out adventure and challenge and found it many times. The two travel frequently into the Giantspine Mountains in search of this adventure and have fought varied foul beasts and even a Giant on one occasion. Mostly, they tangle with the mountain-clansmen and keep a keen eye for signs of restiveness among the barbarians.
The illegitimate son of the late Lord Osran Aralana, VOGDAND was a child when his father was slain in 36 ET. As a result, few knew of his existence as his mother was a domestic in his father's household and the affair also pregnancy were kept quiet. With no backing due to his anonymity and not having been acknowledged, the young boy was not even considered for inheritance of the ARALANA title. Even now, as his paternity has never been truly established or least the evidence not publicly displayed, it is unlikely that he would be considered or even invited to any Succession Council.
All of this seems to meet with his approval and he abhors court though many point out his claimed ignorance could conceal all manner of expertise. He is a common enough sight in the southern lands that few openly speak out against him these days. While he may have tolerated bullying and insults as a child he is now a grown man and skilled knight. But the traditionalists sometimes have their way and cold shoulders can still greet even him. He is considered a loyal member of the ARALANA line and is often referred to as 'our cousin' in seemingly genuine terms.
Relationships
History
VOGDAND and SEDRAS have been close companions since even before their squiring days. As youth, they spent much time outdoors exploring and, now as adults, they seem to do much of the same. Their friendship is strong enough that few would meddle with one without reckoning of the other's response.
