The ARALANA family has attained great heights and fallen just as far in their time in service to RHONE. They have survived landless for nearly over seven generations. They are currently occupying the Bashamon family seat since the defeat and flight of the Presumptuous Lords after the Siege of Rhuvael.
History
Ever the stalwart allies of the LINE OF RHUANON the ARALANA family served faithfully throughout the WAR at Rhuanon's side. After the WAR and RHUANON's death imperiled the QUEEN AROSAINE they rose to the challenge and defeated all comers. They were named as the first EORLS OF SEA-AND-STONE when the title was created by Queen Arosaine in -248 BL. The ARALANA family held the Eorldom until -156 BL when MASEN ARALANA's vengeance against the CUTH went too far and resulted in the death of King Thyaras.
It was in -156 BL, when MASEN's brother, the EORL GARAIN, was slain by CUTH raiders he vowed revenge on the coastal raiders upon inheriting the Eorldom from his childless brother. To gain this revenge he stoked the temper of King Thyaras and encouraged him to campaign against the raiders on their own lands in Cuthaer. The resulting military disaster resulted in the the death of King Thyaras and that of EORL MASEN.
Fearing the wrath of the new QUEEN MORALEI, EORL MASEN's wife, Eloimya, fled the Eorldom with her infant daughter in fear. QUEEN MORALEI was the sister of KING THYARAS and had considerable contempt for those involved in pushing for the expedition. QUEEN MORALEI did not seek or condone retribution against her and her infant daughter, SONENE. Instead, the Queen cited a need for strength on the coasts and installed the Inaline family as the new EORLS OF SEA-AND-STONE
A cadet branch of the ARALANA family, now uprooted from their land and wealth, managed to survive for a number of years as freelances and hedge knights. Even at this time, the ARALANA family was accorded a great deal of respect amongst the RHUANI who always favor the traditional observances. This respect resulted in boons and enough favors for the ARALANA family to rise up from the ashes once again. They held land as bailiff for several generations with old friends and connected families ensuring that the ARALANA never lost their noble writ.
The ARALANA family were eager volunteers for the QUEEN's CRUSADE and only Cuen Aralana, the youngest, was forced to remain behind to maintain the family. Unlike many of the other nobles in RHONE, the ARALANA family knew how precarious something like that could be. One large battle and it is all over. So they prepared accordingly.
After playing a heroic role throughout the campaign against the Presumptuous Lords SER CUEN was encouraged to seize the lands of one of the traitor-lords. In 29 ET, SER CUEN took possession of the lands once held by the Bashamon family.
Though the curent LORD BASHAMON in SWORDS has complained vociferously about returning his family's seat, the Aralana's have held onto it as war spoils and have stopped negotiating or even getting offer/counter-offer moving again. At this time, only or two other nobles and/or knights were in the vicinity and so he would wait until another person dies. If I flatline, you can see me.
