Amaram
Capital city of the nation of Dos, Amaram is a coastal city well regarded for its beauty and architecture, and famed for the canals and waterways that facilitate huge amounts of naval commerce all across the city.
Perhaps most famous are the Dosceío, artificial protected harbors that allow even the largest ironclad to sail slightly inland and make port, away from the prying eyes and claws of the worst of the ocean's inhabitants. Their round structures can be spotted all across the city from above, each one connected by waterway to each other as well as the ocean. The Dosceío were mechanical marvels for their time, given their ability to close off whole sections (Even individual berths should the situation call for it) and drain the water, and only now are they well known enough for the design and idea to be exported to other corners of the world.
There's even a whole architectural college dedicated to the design of these structures alone, whose members are paid well to operate, maintain, and construct the Dosceío.
Besides the waterways for merchant ships and warships to travel into the city, there is also a famed system of small canals, which also facilitate personal travel across the city, and even into the surrounding countryside. The water taxi is often recited as a must for travelers, given is relaxed nature and ease on the body.
Demographics
90% of the cities population is Otonomoi, and 10% Humans roughly speaking.
Defences
Other than the standard garrison for a city of its size, Amaram has the distinction of displaying the Twin Queens at the mouth of its entry-harbor. A pair of massive naval fortresses wrought from dark stone, glistening with dozens of modern naval guns each, and manned by another garrison worth of men.
The fortresses are named such for their regal bearing, and the fact that they are the arbiter of all ships which enter Amaram Harbor, for neither ironclad nor the most fleet of sail could pass underneath or beside either fort without being left as splinters floating on the water.
Each fort sits on either of the enclosing arms of the initial, largest, Dosceío. The fort known as the Westerly Queen sits at ocean level, its throne having been built out of stone pillars driven into a sandy beach by determined Daemoncallers. The perfect vantage point to monitor those that sail by. The sister, the Easterly Queen, sits above the Westerly on a cliff that dramatically juts off of the mountain known as Tidebreaker Peak. The height gives the fort unexpected range, preventing most naval ships from even returning fire while it rains shells down upon their decks.
Industry & Trade
The truly large-scale factories of some other cities have yet to evolve in this city, much to the benefit of all else but the cities pocketbooks.
To make up for it, however, much of the city's workforce is dedicated to refining resources, and then leaving those resources in the hand of bespoke tradesmen and artisans.
There may not be a factory churning out weapons for hours on end, but there are gunsmiths that craft some of the finest weapons on this side of the ocean. Goldworkes may only produce a handful of works in a month, but each is worth a fortune.
The actual founding of the city is hotly debated to this day, as the initial Naval Council was not big on ceremony or circumstance, leaving historians to try and figure out a time and date where the city was "founded".

This reads like an impressive capital. I like how the sea theme continues with names such as 'Tidebreaker Peak.' I feel the city's ability to make powerful guns may give it a lot of attention. I wonder what kinds of relationships Amaram may have with other cities?
