Shoal Class Trade Barge
Shoal class trade barges have been in use for many decades. They are one of the more numerous ships in the Evergreen Realms due to their incredibly cheap price, reasonably versatile chassis and safety of an internal piloting helm. Many a crew have hid out through many dangers within the thick walls of a shoal barge.
Decks. The shoal trade barge has 1 top deck accompanied by an outer open walkway with access points into the first level. It has 2 interior levels.
Ceilings. The ceilings in the lower decks, holds, and cabins are 8 feet high with 6-foot high doorways.
Doors. The ship's doors are made of mix of iron doors (AC 19 36 hit points) and wood doors (AC 15, 18 hit points). The doors immunity to poison and psychic damage. A lock can be picked with a successful DC 15 Dexterity check made using thieves' tools, or the door can be forced open with a successful DC 20 Strength (Athletics) check.
Light. Hanging lanterns cast bright light throughout the ship. The ship has many windows allowing for light on all decks during the daytime without lanterns.
Hull. The ship's hull is 90 ft long and 35 ft wide. Made of sturdy metals on the full exterior. Wood and metals make up the interiors.

Passenger Ships These sturdy ships are often converted into passenger ships as well. Much of the lower class airlines will have a large fleet of these ships running frequent, but relatively short, commuting routes between cities. They are reliable and safe for commercial passenger use.
Smuggler Ships Being so common and innocuous and inconspicuous in the skies, smugglers will often disguise themselves as legitimate traders of business men and women in order to smuggle arms or treasure across borders.
Mercenary Ships The final common use that most shoals see in the Evergreen Realms is that of being a mercenary barge. Life is dangerous as an adventurer in the Evergreen Realms. Mercenary ships often get damaged beyond repair, completely destroyed, stolen, or abandoned. These cheap ships are easy to replace for mercenary companies and adventuring parties alike.
