Daniel Murphy
Commander of the Dwarvik Revolution
Daniel Murphy was a prominent dwarf in the Dwarvik Revolution who proved himself a mighty warrior and sailor, leading the Dwarvikings to victory against their Dwarborg oppressors.
In spite of his fame and status as a folk hero, Daniel was arrested not long after the Glorious Revolution for heresy. He was indefinitely incarcerated and suppressed within Bedlam Asylum.

Personal history
Daniel Murphy was the eldest son of Sean Murphy, a popular Union Leader in Iakvik. Daniel was popular with the other sailors in the town and was known for his natural abilities as a fisherman, seemingly capable of commanded fish into the nets.
The call of the sea encouraged Daniel to take greater risks, including one occasion in which he was the sole survivor of a seastorm. When asked how he was able to return on his ship, he would tell everyone that the storm "fell for his charms."
Daniels ambition and determination came to a head the day his father was killed in an argument with Orin O'Rourke, the Dvarborgish foreman. In response Daniel murdered O'Rourke and his guards using dark magic from the sea.
In spite of him revealing his dark pact with the sea, the Dwarvikings rallied around him and he led them in a guerilla war at sea. Daniel would use the sea and storms to his advantage, allowing the small Dwarviking ships to outmanouver and destroy the Dvarborg airships. The war was finally won when Daniel led a final skirmish against The Leviathan, the flagship of the Dvarborg airfleet, and captured it and turned it against the rest of the fleet. The Dzarborgish finally surrendered the Dwarvik Isles to their inhabitants and Daniel was declared a war hero.
The years that followed were difficult for Daniel as he turned from hero to politician. The Murphy family were expected to help establish the Dwarvik nation and Daniel was the choice to lead them as the eldest. However, these tasks instead passed on to Molly Murphy who had more of the will and mindset for politicking. Meanwhile, Daniel sank further into his obsession with the sea and the effects of his own magical powers increasingly showed themselves on his body.
Finally, almost a decade after the succession, Daniel was betrayed by his own younger brother, Seamus, and given over to the young inquisitor, Claude Lestrade. Daniel was interred in Bedlam Asylum and ultimately lobotomised to passify his magical abilities.
