Ivy Halley Jordan

Ivy Jordan is a human that was recently revealed to be a half-elf. She is an energetic and bubbly person with a preference for fiction and fantasy.
She and her best friend, an Ash Elf called Nathiel, are soon to attend the Elven University, Nasrelts, Academy of the Arcane.
She has dreamed of leaving behind mundane life since childhood and now she is soon to get her dreams realised as she travels to what she believes is a fantasy world full of Fairies and Wonder.
Despite her dreams of fantasy however, she insists, quite half-heartedly that she wants to go home and is actually a full human.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Ivy is both fit and healthy. She exercises often but compared against the agility, speed and strength of Fae, she is weak. She is naturally curvy in form despite her regular and vigorous exercise.

Identifying Characteristics

Ivy is now a human among Fae despite being claimed to be half-elf. Elves have forms of all builds and sizes, appearances of all kinds but Ivy is noticeably human. Her ears are not pointed. Her skin can grow blemishes and spots. She moves without grace. She blunders and trips everywhere she goes. She is clumsy and unrefined. Among humans she is beautiful but among elves she is plain and dowdy.

Ivy has an identifying scent of coffee and fruit. She always drinks coffee and her favourite perfume has a fruity scent.

Special abilities

As a half-elf, Ivy is unique. Her Fae blood is so weak that the weaknesses that plague their kind have no impact upon her. She is not bound by her true name, iron doesn't affect her, she can lie all she likes, all the other defences against Fae do nothing to her. No glamour can be cast upon her as Fae cannot glamour their own kind.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

A few weeks ago, Ivy had some unexpected visitors. Several representatives of the Forest Matriarchs and the Golden Council arrived on her doorstep and explained to her that she was something never seen before in their world. Something special.
She and her best friend, Nat were told that Ivy is a half elf, something that has never and could never exist before. Because of this the leaders of the Fae Realm agreed (according to the representatives but in truth only 2 of the 4 nations did so) that Ivy has to attend the university that all, newly adult Elves study at to learn their nation's magics and skills.
Nat insisted Half-Elves don't exist. live lacklustre.

Education

Ivy is currently attending university for an agricultural degree. She is in her third year but has had to pull out of school to go to the Fae Realm.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Ivy is proud of how much of a good person she is. She argues against injustice, she volunteers at public gardens. She is well liked despite being 'different' as she claims because she is a girl that likes nerdy hobbies such as comics or videogames. She even befriend the weird, angry goth girl next door that no one wanted to be friends.

Morality & Philosophy

Ivy has a very strong moral compass and won't stand for injustice in anyway. She is loud and unapologetic about standing up against wrongdoing.
But Ivy can be blind to issues if they counteract or interfere with something else in her life. In that case she will genuinely be convinced that the wrongdoing is in fact justified.

Taboos

Ivy doesn't react well when there is a situation where she is not at the centre or at least included. She would never admit that but it's true.
She also can't stand the majority of people disliking her. She has to be seen as a good person and that way when someone doesn't like her, she can claim they're a bad person and obviously in the wrong.

Ivy wants to go home to the human realm. 
BUT. 
She also has grown up reading the human stories about a prophesied child saved the world after being introduced to a new life of magic... and Ivy has just been introduced into a new world of magic... So if someone WANTS to declare her a prophesised hero of legend she wouldn't say no...
Actually no one needs to say it, Ivy can clearly see the situation; she's a hero, she'll be the hero, Ivy is the HERO who will save the Fae Realm from... whatever the issue is.

Ivy took up beekeeping a few years ago. It's a fun hobby for her but she's still not very good at it because she tends to ignore any advice and lessons people give her because she's certain she doesn't need it.

Personality Quirks

Ivy has a huge hero complex. She grew up reading human stories about the hero's journey and she’s desperate to have it herself. She wants to be the prophesised hero with sidekicks and enemies in a fantastical setting fighting a problem only she can win against. She's so desperate for it that she tends to be blind to the realities of a situation.

Nathiel - Ivy met Nat 5 years ago in the human realm after Nat moved into next door. Ivy decided instantly the moody, distanced edgy girl would be her new best friend and didn't really give Nat much of a say in the matter. She recently learned Nat is not human and has yet to wrap her head around the fact that many of the details of their friendship aren't real.

Ivy is confident and outgoing. She is friendly and kind but that can become forced when she is upset by a person upstaging her.
She is a self-proclaimed leader in quite a bossy and pushy way and tends to demand the role rather than just being someone others follow.
Ivy tends to ignore cultural etiquettes and customs and openly berates them without caring about the implications. When she is accused of such, she gets defensive, insists she's not at fault and pulls in bystanders to defend her.

Mannerisms

Ivy craves attention and tries to be "not like other girls". She insists she is different form other girls because she likes 'ungirly' things such as comics and videogames. She tries to pull in others to validate her behaviour. Ivy often ignores everything that isn't related to her or about her and she gets annoyed when others don't ignore them too.

Ivy enjoys beekeeping and making honey. She isn't very good at it but she enjoys it all the same. She also has gardening as a hobby.
