Genie

Genies (also called djinn by some) are race of wish-granting humanoids. as well as a type of elemental. They do not take elemental form, but are often aligned with one of the elements in some way. Genies enjoy having a place to stay, be it a bottle, oil lamp, vase, jar. However, genies can only be released by those on the outside, by rubbing their vessel. Genies are also capable of granting people three wishes. Genies that are aligned with good can refuse wicked wishes. The same is true for evil genies of pure wishes. Once they have been released, genies can leave their vessel at any time, and can choose to abandon someone if the wishes go against their morality.

Genies appear to be human, and it can be hard to tell the difference at first. Those who can sense magic or magic users will be able to recognize a genie right away, however. For those who can't, certain spells can be used to make up for the weaker senses. Additionally, some genies prefer, rather than legs, to have a smoke tail below their waist instead.

Common Dress Code

There is no required dress code for genies, but due to most genies originating from Saehirus, their clothing is very light and minimalistic. Men typically wear no shirt, a shirtless vest, etc, while women would wear a simple top or thin-fabric shirt. Taste in dress ultimately depends on the individual.

Common Taboos

Granting more than three wishes is forbidden. A fourth wish undoes the previous three, and a fifth wish causes a natural disaster. Wishes that would upset the balance of reality are forbidden, wishes such as "I wish to become omnipotent" or "I wish for immortality". Additionally, if an excess of bad wishes are tipping the balance, good genies will usually step in of their own accord and revert them.
