Naiad
Naiads are water nymphs, protectors of mainly rivers, but also lakes, swamps, ponds, and most other bodies of water. Naiads are always female. Their clothing is made out of ever-flowing water, and the color changes with their condition. Depending on the condition of the water, a naiad’s appearance can change. A naiad whose water is fresh and clean will be beautiful and serene. A healthy naiad's skin is a light blue, with hair slightly darker.
A naiad whose river is polluted and foul will look like an old hag, brown and grey and full of trash. Like dryads, they are neutral until their habitat is under siege. If their river dries up, or becomes too polluted, the Naiad will die.
Naiads' personalities are somewhat impatient and blunt, reflecting their environment: a river flows fast and stops for no one.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Naiads, in their best condition, will look to be young teenage girls, with dark blue hair and light blue skin. When polluted, their skin, clothing and hair turn brown, grey or red depending on the pollutant. They turn into hags, wrinkled and hunched over, and their patience diminishes greatly (even more than usual.)
Biological Traits
Naiads have the capability to live indefinitely as long as they don't dry up, or get overpolluted.
Genetics and Reproduction
A naiad is born whenever a new body of water is born, such as a lake or stream. Small amounts of water, like puddles, will not give birth to a naiad.

Biological Cycle
In the winter, if a naiad's water source freezes over, the naiad will hibernate, visibly sleeping underneath the ice.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
- Attachment Detection: Naiads can sense everything and anything happening to their entire river. If someone drops trash into it miles upstream, they'll feel it and most often will go there to tell the person off.
- Aquatic Life Detection: Naiads can sense aquatic life within a certain radius, including life in their river.
- Magic Detection

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Naiads get along well with most races, but want nothing to do with humans, the residents of Hell, or "darker variations" of a race.
