Malby Lead Works
History
The Malby Lead Works is a lead manufactory owned by the Malby Lead Company. The complex includes a large shot tower, a brick tower designed for the manufacture of lead shot by dropping it from a great height. The tower is divided into three levels- a water-filled basement, a ground-floor space for melting and dropping lead, and first-floor observation gallery. The shot tower was 45m high and the gallery was reached by an exterior metal staircase from the ground floor lead floor.
