Chapter 6: The Sonuk Threat

The party emerges from Tower Kond and some time has passed while they were locked inside. Kadaj, the large purple skinned demonic entity, has seemingly partied up with the group and is flying them from the tower to Riuken, where he has heard of a half-orc named Alog who controls this clan; something the players know very well.
What has happened in the time that has passed? Are they thought to be dead? Who were the soldiers that came to the tower?

Plot points/Scenes

Riuke: Alog has pulled back most of his military to reside in Riuken and Ilinvur. There are several key points that have happened:

1. Avang has been taken over by the Sonuk. It seems the mayor, Cyrus, was killed during the event. It's under control by Galgorath. He has one of the stones.
2. Sturm was annihilated. No survivors are known.
3. Ilinvur was attacked a few days ago but they were able to repel the Sonuk forces.
4. They've learned the Sonuk are seeking the "stones" for Wazdaka but they don't what those are.
5. They've reached out to their contacts in Goliad and to King Yarin Frostmantle himself to ask for aid.
6. Hawkroost has sent in reports of people getting sick and strange things happening.
7. 3 1/2 months ago a large ripping noise was heard and the Tortured Lands looked to become a deserted wasteland with dark purple clouds above it and large pillars of earth jutting up out of the ground.
8. Roughly once a day there is a small earthquake that shakes the ground but doesn't seem super serious.

Exposition

Alog shares the information he has about the recent events that have happened since the party has been gone.

Conflict

The Sonuk have moved into a full scale attack on all Riuke cities.

Goals

Wazdaka wants to collect the stones. Alog is trying to determine the underlying goal of the Sonuk. Axithar is using Wazdaka to do a blood ritual in Shadowfell at a weak point between the planes.

Hooks

Kadaj shares information about the "Barze" family, which is a poor translation for the Zarôn family. His family. Cyril Zarôn is his father. Kiran may learn of his father.

Red Herrings

The Sonuk are trying to destroy the Riuke and take control of Vaasa. This is what most followers of The Sonuk believe. Only the "Dark Ones" and Wazdaka himself know the true intentions.
