Vaasa
Where mystery and frost coalesce.
It is a relatively empty land with sporadic farms and the occasional wandering monster. As much of the land was unclaimed, there were many prospectors who came to Vaasa looking for natural treasures, of which it had many. The lands were rich in precious metals and gems, particularly bloodstone.
The Great Glacier was a retreating glacier that once covered the lands of Vaasa and Damara. It lay to the north of both of these lands.
Bloodstone Pass allowed trade access through the Galena Mountains to Damara in the east.
Geography
Vaasa is in essence two halves separated by the West Galena Mountains.
The Eastern side of Vaasa, to the east of the West Galena Mountains, is primarily grasslands with billowy, rolling hills that are only broken by sparse groves dotted throughout the land. The Vercy Wood is a thick lattice of wide arched trees and sprawling undergrowth that gives a person the chills upon getting too close.
The Western side of Vassa, to the west of the West Galena Mountains and before you reach Damara, is a frozen wasteland where the land is dry and cracked and there is a constant spill of mist coming from the north. However, travel far enough north and the Bottomless Bogs are a drastic change of scenery; lush, thick undergrowth where the air is moist and heavy. Traveling through the bog requires the proper footwear and attire; unless you do not mind wading through knee high waters and your clothes sticking to your sweaty skin.
Fauna & Flora
Eastern Side:
Low shrubbery and small groves of trees. Primarily just grasslands with patches of waist high grass. Deer, wolves, rabbits and other small carnivores roam here, mostly pack animals or those retreating from the dangers of the Vercy Wood.
Western Side:
Dry, cracked ground with a near constant low fog sits on the ground. The occasional watering hole, frozen over by the cold temperatures throughout this side of Vaasa. Gnolls and hyenas are the primary above ground fauna that are found, but worse are those underground. Wyrms and borrowers find the land easy to traverse, the dried out dirt makes for quick movement.
