House Seybard (Say-Bard)

A Waterdhavian noble house which can trace its lineage back a solid 200 years. Once a House of comfortably mid-level status among Waterdeep's peerage, with a successful shipping company under its umbrella, House Seybard has recently fallen on extremely hard times. Several scandals rocked the House nearly two decades ago, culminating in both a loss of prestige and a significant flurry of fines. A prominent member of the House even managed to find themselves locked away in jail. The fines imposed upon them by the city's authorities hit hardest, draining the family coffers to the point where many held assets needed to be sold off; both within the family itself and from their shipping company, Seybard Shipping Co. Though things have appeared rather quiet for them over the past decade, very little progress had been made to restoring much of any of the House's former prestige or ability. To make matters worse, Alistair Seybard, the (now former) Head of the House had recently fallen ill and passed away, leaving the charge to his heir and eldest son, Castian Seybard; a young, and some would say, reckless man who is largely seen as untested. Many question his ability to lead what little is left of the House, while some view his rise to power as the beginning of the end for this family of nobles.
