On the Holy Life of Saint Amator of Colsartia

In the Second Century ante Refugium, when the light of the Ouranic Church had yet to fully illumine the farthest reaches of the Rexan Empire, there lived a man of saintly repute, known unto all as Amator of Colsartia. Born unto a patrician family of Rexan descent, yet dwelling in the far western province of Colsartia, where the Rhenish nation once did hold steadfastly to their ancient faith, the Aldarwis, Saint Amator did rise as a beacon of divine grace and boundless compassion.

From his earliest years, young Amator was imbued with a fervent zeal for the Ouranic faith. Yet, his father, a man of worldly ambitions, sought to prevent him from following his holy vocation. Desiring that Amator should pursue the path of political and social prominence, his father did obstruct his pious aspirations. Nevertheless, the divine calling within Amator’s heart was insuppressible. Unheeding of his father’s designs, he did flee from his home as a young man and found sanctuary in a monastery dedicated to the veneration of Maya

For twelve years, Amator remained in holy solitude and silence within the monastic walls, devoting himself to prayer, contemplation, and the austere life of a monk. In this sacred seclusion, his soul was fortified, and his understanding of the mysteries of the Most Compassionate Mother of Mercy deepened, preparing him for the great mission that lay ahead.

Upon the completion of these twelve years, a divine prompting urged him to forsake the monastery’s confines and embark upon a new journey as an itinerant missionary. Tireless in his endeavors, he traversed the length and breadth of the provinces, spreading the teachings of the Ouranic Church with unwavering resolve.

One such wondrous tale of his theurgical prowess hath been oft recounted amongst the faithful. It so happened that, upon a certain day, the village of Kareth did prepare to hold a festival in honor of their ancient customs. Alas, their ale, the lifeblood of their merriment, was found wanting. With great consternation, they approached Saint Amator, whose renown for miraculous deeds had reached their ears. Calling upon the divine power of Ikatrus, Amator did invoke a miracle most profound: several barrels of common water were transformed into the finest ale, thus ensuring the joy of the village folk and turning their hearts toward the truth of Ator's eternal and unchanging law.

Saint Amator's boundless hospitality was likewise famed far and wide, a superlative example of the Maya's virtues. His hermitage was ever open to the weary traveler, the destitute, and the downtrodden. Innkeepers, brewers, and vintners doth hold him in especial veneration, for in his benevolence and generosity, they saw the embodiment of their sacred duties. Thus, he is hailed as their patron saint, guiding their hands and hearts in service to others.

Blessed with a long life by Gerdia, Saint Amator finally ascended to the order and peace of Ourana at the age of 95, dying peacefully in sleep. Since the horrors of the Darkest Day, his relics have been unaccounted for and cry out for rediscovery and reclaimtion by vailant paladin-warriors.

Throughout his blessed life, Saint Amator's deeds did shine as a testament to the Ouranic fatih. With each community village converted, each miracle wrought, he did diminish the dark shadows of the blood-soaked Aldarwis, bringing forth the radiant light of the Ouranic Church. And so, his memory endureth, a beacon of sanctity, whose life and works continue to inspire the faithful unto this very day.

Thus endeth the hagiography of Saint Amator of Colsart, whose name shall be forever enshrined in the annals of the Church, a paragon of divine virtue and tireless devotion.

Concerning the Holy Lives and Martydom of Saints Dravian and Zetaris

In the Fifth Century ante Refugium, in the desert land of Adbia, were born unto a pious family twin brethren, Dravian and Zetaris. These twin brothers, renowned for their wisdom, became physicians of great repute, tending to the sick and afflicted with unparalleled devotion. From their tenderest years, they were devout followers of the divine Maya, who bestowed upon them gifts of healing that almost rivaled those possessed by her son, Lamos.

Their father, a learned man, did instruct them in the sacred arts of healing, and their mother, a woman of great virtue in the Ouranic faith, did nurture in them the precepts of charity and piety. Reared in a household of virtue and knowledge, Dravian and Zetaris grew in wisdom and grace, becoming beacons of hope to the ailing and downtrodden.

Throughout Adbia, their fame spread far and wide, for they ministered to the sick without demanding recompense, treating the wounds of the body and soul alike. To the poor and rich alike, they gave freely of their skill, each sufferer igniting the divine spark of Maya’s compassion within them. Through their hands, the blind saw, the lame walked, and the hearts of the despairing were lifted unto hope.

Yet, in the fullness of time, a dark shadow fell upon Adbia. The Empire of Arash II, with its legions of iron and fire, did sweep across the land, bringing with it a new creed and demanding obeisance to strange gods. The noble law of Ator, under whose stern gaze Dravian and Zetaris had been raised, was declared heretical, and the followers of Maya were commanded to forsake their devotion or face dire consequences, for Arash II was desirous that the twin's powers of healing serve his ambitions.

Undaunted by the threats of the conquerors, the twin physicians held steadfast to their faith. Before the tribunal of Arash II they were summoned and commanded to renounce their devotion to Maya and instead serve him and the gods of the Arahani. With voices unwavering and hearts resolute, they refused, declaring that no earthly power could sway them from their divine duty.

Enraged by their defiance, Arash II decreed that they be put to death, hoping thus to quench the flame of their devotion amongst the populace. On the appointed day, Dravian and Zetaris were led to the place of execution, where they knelt in prayer, commending their spirits to Maya. As the executioner’s blade fell, they passed from this world unto the eternal embrace of the goddess whom they had served so faithfully.

Their martyrdom did not extinguish their legacy, for the people of Adbia and beyond holdest their memory in reverence. They are the patron saints of barber-surgeons, their lives an exemplar of the power of faith and compassion. In every age and clime, wherever the Ouranic Church standeth, the names of Dravian and Zetaris are invoked, and their hallowed deeds recounted, inspiring countless generations to the noble pursuit of healing and charity.

Wherefore, in the annals of saintly lore, the twin physicians of Adbia remain forever enshrined, their spirits united with our divine mother, and their legacy a beacon of love everlasting.

The Sacred Life of Saint Echele of Eknopolis

In the annals of the blessed Ouranic Church, there shineth forth the wondrous life of Saint Echele, known to the faithful as a healer and protector of Eknopolis. In the 26th year ante Refugium, she was born unto Abantentius, a high-ranking dignitary of the Eknopolite bureaucracy, and from her youth, her spirit was set upon the path of righteousness and devotion.

Echele, in her tender years, did hearken unto the call of the Great Physician, Lamos, God of Healing and Herbalism. Forsaking the secular world, she entered the hallowed House of Healing, wherein she did train as an apothecary. In those sacred halls, her faith grew as a cedar of Ishem, and her wisdom in the arts of healing waxed greater than the most learned of her contemporaries.

It is writ in the scrolls of the Church that Saint Echele performed miracles of great renown. Through the invocation of Lamos' holy name, she cured the afflicted from deadly poisons, their suffering vanishing as dew before the morning light of Aelos. The sick and the suffering, from near and far, flocked to her, and many were healed by her blessed touch. Her fame spread throughout Eknopolis and beyond, as she became a living example of the mercy of Maya and the power of her son Lamos.

One notable account speaks of a time, shortly before the Refugium, when a great plague of poison swept through Eknopolis while it was being seiged by the armies of the Ashkuz Xhanate. The waters of the city were tainted by agents of the Xhan's army, and the people fell grievously ill, their bodies wracked with pain and their breaths shallow. The physicians of the city were confounded, for the poison was unlike any they had ever encountered, defying all known remedies.

In this dark hour, Saint Echele, guided by the wisdom of Lamos, stepped forth. She prepared a sacred elixir from rare herbs and plants, blessed with prayers and invocations to the Great Physician. With steadfast faith, she administered this divine remedy to the afflicted. It is recorded that as the elixir touched their lips, the victims' suffering ceased, and their health was restored. The poison, potent and deadly, was purged from their bodies as if it had never been.

This miracle was but the first of many. Time and again, when poison threatened the lives of the innocent, Saint Echele intervened. Whether it was venom from serpents, the insidious toxins of malevolent foes, or accidental ingestions of harmful substances, her healing hands and sacred elixirs brought relief and salvation. Her fame as an apothecary grew, and with it, her renown as a protector against poisons.

Not only was she a healer of bodies but also of souls. Saint Echele was gifted with the divine power to expel foul spirits, and many were the tormented who found peace through her ministrations. The possessed, seized by dark phantoms, were restored to light and life by her holy exorcisms. Such was her piety and the strength of her faith, that the very demons of Abythos trembled at the mention of her name.

The time came when the Great City of Eknopolis was threatened by the foul legions of the Lich-Imperator Nefastius. His undead hordes, driven by malice and dark sorceries, sought to overthrow the city and plunge it into eternal night. In this dire hour, the elders and wise men of Eknopolis devised a potent ritual to shield the city from the coming doom. It required the ultimate sacrifice of three and fifty holy anchorites who would willingly be immured within the city's great walls, their spirits forming an impenetrable barrier against the undead.

Among the chosen was Saint Echele, whose courage and faith shone brighter than the gems in Esperus's ebon cloak. With serene grace and unwavering resolve, she embraced her fate. She and her fellow anchorites entered the walls, and there they were sealed, their bodies entombed, yet their spirits vigilant and enduring.

It is said that as the stones closed around her, Saint Echele's final prayer echoed through the air, a benediction of protection and healing over the city she so dearly loved. The magic wrought by her sacrifice and that of her companions held firm, and the city of Eknopolis stood unbreached, the undead hordes repelled by a force they could not overcome.

To this day, Saint Echele is revered as a paragon of faith and selfless devotion. Her remains, enshrined within the city walls, continue to inspire the faithful. Miracles are still reported at her resting place, and many pilgrims seek her intercession in times of need.

The Life and Acts of the Blessed Stephanos of Koromina

Stephanos of Koromina, a saint of the Ouranic faith, is venerated amongst the three and fifty Anchorites of Eknopolis.

Born in the seaside village of Koromina, Stephanos was raised amongst those who braved the perils of the Central Sea Sea. This environment instilled within him a profound respect for the sea and its mistress, the goddess Naeia. In his youth, he felt the call of faith and did reject his family's attempts to secure a marriage with the daughter of a prosperous Rexan merchant. Thus, at the age of sixteen summers, he departed from his family to join the Order of the Sea-Mother as a novice. There, he devoted himself to prayers for the safety of those who sailed upon the waves. After proving his worth during his novitiate, he was fully inducted into the order as a cleric in the fourteenth year ante Refugium.

During his tenure as a cleric in the Ouranic Church, he became renowned for both his devotion to Naeia and his theurgy to calm the raging seas. This led to his posting at the Patriarchate of Eknopolis, where he served as a naval sacerdote for some of the most significant sea voyages undertaken by the Rexan Empire and its grand merchant houses.

Following the events of the Dies Infelicissimus, the city of Eknopolis found itself besieged by the undead host of Nefastius. Knowing that a breach was imminent, the Patriarchate did convince the Council of Elders to permit three and fifty Ouranic clergy to be immured within the walls. This sacrifice would fuel a mystical ritual, establishing a protective ring around Eknopolis that the undead could not penetrate. When the Patriarchate called for volunteers, Stephanos was amongst the first to answer, thus ensuring his sainthood through his martyrdom. His place of immurement lies slightly north of the Chryson Gate within the Pallioniki district.

To this day, merchants of Eknopolis continue to travel to the site where Stephanos was sealed within the city walls. They venerate his sacrifice and seek his protection before embarking on their journeys across the vast expanse of the Central Sea.

The Hagiography of Saint Victanus of Rexa

In the Third Century ante Refugium, there flourished, a most devout and holy man by the name of Victanus of Rexa.

Born in the grand city of Rexa to a patrician merchant family, his youth was marked by a fervent piety and a profound dedication to the immortal Ouranians, for despite his family's wealth, always did he shun the vanities of the world and sought solace in the sacred law of Ator instead.

Victanus, upon reaching the age of manhood, did solemnly vow his life unto Maya, the most benevolent goddess of mercy and compassion. In the austere simplicity of his monastic cell, he devoted himself to prayer and contemplation, seeking ever to purify his soul and serve his fellow man.

However, in his fervent quest for spiritual perfection, Victanus eventually embraced the life of a medicant cleric, renouncing all earthly possessions. With naught but a simple robe and staff, he did wander the land, living solely on the alms bestowed by the charitable. His life was testimony to humility and self-abnegation, his heart ever filled with the divine light of Maya's grace.

Saint Victanus's benevolence knew no bounds. He ministered unto the sick, offering solace and healing through both mundane remedies and miraculous theurgy. The poor and the destitute found in him a steadfast ally, as he shared with them the scanty sustenance he himself received. His fame as a healer and advocate of Maya's mercy spread far and wide, and many a pilgrim sought his blessing on their perilous journeys.

So great was his compassion that he became known as the patron of pilgrims, travelers, and beggars. To these wayfarers, he extended the hand of fellowship, guiding them with his wisdom and protecting them with his prayers. It is said that many a wanderer, lost in the desolate wastes, findeth safe passage through the intercession of Saint Victanus.

In the annals of the Ouranic Church, his name is writ large as a beacon of hope and charity. Though he hath long since ascended to the peak of Mount Ourana, his spirit endureth, a shining exemplar of piety and mercy. The faithful still recount tales of his miracles, and his relics are venerated by many.

Thus lived and thus died Saint Victanus of Rexa, a true servant of Maya, Advocate of the Faith, and a guardian of the forsaken. His life of service and sacrifice remains an inspiration to all who seek to walk betwixt the path of Ator's righteousness and Maya's mercy.
