Magic Items in the Fractured Skies
Magic items function slightly differently in the Skies. Unlike in other worlds, where magic is woven into the items themselves, instead, enchantments are imbued into Stones of Power. Those stones are embedded into items with slots. compatible
Creating an item that can hold an enchantment is a tremendous effort, and goes beyond simply drilling a hole into a pre-existing weapon. There are many ways to go about it, but most involve using some combination of rare metals, materials, and Magitech Circuits. Some items are designed with multiple slots, meaning that multiple enchantments can be placed on the same item, but these are incredibly rare. An item can have no more than three slots. In price terms, creating an item with a slot costs roughly 10 rarity 4 Slivers, creating an item with two slots costs roughly 100 rarity 4 Slivers, and creating an item with three slots cost roughly 1000 rarity 4 Slivers.
If you provide the materials needed to craft the item, or craft the item yourself, this may reduce the cost (at your DM's discretion).
It is possible to remove embedded stones, though doing so risks ruining the enchantment. Removing or embedding a Stone of Power requires one hour of work with a jeweler's kit. If you are removing the stone, roll 1d20. On a 1, the stone loses its power and becomes a mundane chunk of Echo Quartz.
Similar effects do not stack. For example, two +1 weapons do not add up to a +2. Effects that require attunement take up distinct attunement slots.
