Stone Cannon
Stone cannons are elemental artillery designed by the Enchanters Guilld of Molten Heart. The stone cannon is made of steel, and resembles a conventional gunpowder cannon. Instead of using gunpowder and cannonballs, however, the stone cannon consumes dirt, stone, or sand, transmuting it into a dense ball of incredibly heavy matter, before soundlessly firing it in a designated direction.
Stone cannons are much more accurate and hardy than then conventional cannons, but are incredibly expensive and difficult to produce. Only the Doro of the Enchanters Guilld know the specific secrets of their construction, and guard that secret jealously.
Manufacturing
While the majority of the manufacturing of a stone cannon is similar to a traditional gunpowder based cannon, it differs toward its base, as its chamber is open. Stone cannons use a complex array of earth infused chunks of Echo Quartz , a rare and mystical mineral capable of holding elemental energy and enchantments for long periods of time, to manipulate earth and instantly transmute it into a dense, almost iron-like, ball, before firing it out at rapid speeds. Each chunk of Echo Quartz needs to be individually enchanted, a process that takes weeks of intensive concentration and work.
Access & Availability
Stone cannons are mainly used by the The Iron Band and islands that are closely allied with Molten Heart, such as members of The Pact. The Enchanters Guilld is so paranoid that the technology could be reverse engineered that they expressly limit the trading of the weapons to only members of The Pact, or individuals whom the guild has monumental trust in.
