Doro

The doro originate from the island of Molten Heart. They are stout humanoids who have dark gray skin, red eyes, and orange hair. Doro are proud warriors, scholars, enchanters, and craftspeople, known for their stubbornness and unyielding nature. Nothing shy of perfection is acceptable to a doro, as they strive for mastery of their chosen profession above all other things. Their stubborn streak is fueled by fiery passion and a will like steel. Pulled between a drive to prove themselves as individuals, and the desire to work for the collective, they are a race guided by a decidedly materialistic and realist philosophy.   The doro are a minority on their island, but make up most of the ruling class. Their origin is unclear, as the Gobi who also call the island home were unaware of their existence until they emerged from the volcanic tunnels at the core of the island. The doro claim to have been birthed from the molten earth, bursting forth from stone cocoons of soft igneous rock. The doro credit their creation to The Fire Titan and The Earth Titan, who they call Father Ool and Father Gol, whom they believe literally sculpted their forbears out of magma, iron, source crystal, and coal.   After the doro emerged, they quickly established themselves and began instinctively building fortification and weapons. The doro conquered the warring goblin tribes, but quickly divided themselves, as factions arose with their own views on how their society should progress, and how best to distribute the limited food and water resources on the island. This led to a period of even greater conflict, which ended roughly 10 years after the first sky ship landed on Molten Heart's shore, carrying supplies from distant Skyhome and Plenty. Within two decades, the faction which had welcomed the travelers had gained enough power through its open trade with other islands, that it could pressure every other faction on the island into a peace bond, forming what would eventually be known as The Guild Order.

Growth Rate & Stages

Doro grow slowly when compaired to the other races, reaching sexual maturity at 30 years, and full maturity at 40. Doro grow more hair as they age, so if not properly groomed, elder doro can be completely covered in a thick blanket of multicolored hair.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The exact reason why doro developed their unique eyes is unknown, but they are by far one of the species best able to see in the dark. Despite living in environments constantly bathed by the red light of molten magma, the doro cannot stand the light of the sun. To compensate for this deficiency, the doro wear Doro Sun Glassess to shield their eyes and allow them to function during the day.
